Director of Technical Education, Kerala, has invited application for admission to the two years (four semesters) Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programme, Kerala for 2023-24.

The course is intended to train graduates in Computer Science/IT Engineering, Computer Applications or any graduation degree preferably with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation level in development and use of software for different applications. The major thrust is on giving the students a sound background in computing, business functions and Mathematics relevant to Information Technology.

Eligibility: Applicant should be an Indian Citizen. Applicant should have B.C.A/ B.Sc. (Computer Science)/ B.Sc (IT) / B.E(CSE)/ B.Tech (CSE) / B.E(IT) / B.Tech (IT) or equivalent Degree or any graduation degree (such as B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc / B.Com. /B.A./ B. Voc./ etc.,) preferably with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation level with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved/PWD category) in the qualifying examination. Final Year Regular Bachelor’s Degree students are also permitted to appear for the Entrance Examination subject to the condition that the original degree certificate and mark lists of all parts of the qualifying examination shall be produced by the candidate at the time of admission.

Entrance Examination: Selection will be based on an Entrance Examination of two hours’ duration to be conducted at selected venues in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode on a date to be announced later. The test will have 120 Objective type multiple choice Questions from (i) Computer Science (50 questions - Problem Solving with Computer Programming, Digital Fundamentals & Computer Organization, Database Fundamentals) (ii) Mathematics & Statistics (25 questions - Plus-2 Level Topics) (iii) Quantitative Aptitude (25 questions - Logical Ability Graduate level questions) (iv) English (15 questions - Basic Grammar & Comprehension) and (v) General Knowledge (5 questions- Current Affairs). Each question carries 1 mark. There is no negative mark for incorrect answers. Application: Applications can be submitted online at https://lbscentre.kerala.gov.in/ latest by 4.6.2023. Application Fee for General and SEBC candidates is Rs.1200/-. For SC/ST candidates it is Rs.600/-. It can be remitted online or at any one of the branches of Federal Bank in Kerala, using Challan that can be downloaded from the application website latest by 31.5.2023.
