NEET: Kerala’s pass percentage below national average; only one Malayali in top 50 list

New Delhi: The performance of Kerala students in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)-UG 2022 does not look lustrous as per the data compiled by National Testing Agency (NTA).

As many as 9,93,069 (56.3 per cent) of the 17,64,571 candidates cleared the national level test. While only 55 per cent qualified the exam in Kerala. A total of 1,16,395 candidates appeared for the exam from the state and only 64,034 among them qualified.

The other states with pass percentage below the national average are Jammu & Kashmir(54.9 per cent), Manipur (54.7 per cent), Uttar Pradesh(53.5 per cent), Assam(51.3 per cent), Tamil Nadu(51.2 per cent), Tripura (49.5 per cent), Chhattisgarh (48 per cent), Maharashtra(46.4 per cent), Madhya Pradesh(44.8 per cent).

Meanwhile, only one candidate from Kerala got named on the list of top 50 candidates.

The NTA announced results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)-UG on September 7.

A total of 16 states and UTs have scored pass percentage above the national average.
