Kerala reinforces ban on mobile phones in schools

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala government instigated a strict ban on the use of mobile phones in schools by the students. Minister V Sivankutty informed that the students are not supposed to use mobile phones in classrooms or on the premises of schools.

Minister also instructed to avoid taking students for unnecessary programmes during class time. Permission will not be granted for taking students to programmes other than curricular and co curricular activities, he added.

The procedures for the unification of high school and higher secondary sections according to the recommendation of the Khader Committee will be completed this year. Minister said that a core committee has been set up for this.
