National Testing Agency has invited applications for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2023 Session 1 (January 2023).
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE (Main) comprises two papers. Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech), Paper 2 A, for admission to B. Arch and Paper 2 B, for admission to B. Planning courses at National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments.
Paper 1 is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in B.E./B.Tech. Paper of JEE (Main) 2023 to be eligible to register for JEE (Advanced) 2023.
For Academic Session 2023-24, JEE (Main) 2023 will be conducted in two Sessions- Session 1 in January 2023 and Session 2 in April 2023. Aspirants can appear for one session or both sessions. In case one appears for both sessions, better score of the two sessions will be considered for ranking.
JEE (Main) 2023 will be conducted in 13 Languages-English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Candidate has to opt for the language of the question paper while applying for the examination.
Online Submission of Application Form for session 1 can be done at https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/ latest by 9 pm on 12 January 2023.
Application fee can be paid through Credit/Debit Card/Net-Banking/UPI till 11.50 pm on 12 January 2023.
Examination for Session 1 will be held on 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 January 2023.
In the application link for the first session of JEE (Main) 2023, only Session 1 will be visible and candidates can opt for that. In the next session, Session 2 will be visible, and the candidates can opt for that Session.
Online Submission of Application Form for session 2 will be available from 7 February 2023 to 9 pm on 7 March 2023. Examination for session 2 will be on 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12 April 2023. The details will be notified separately through a Public Notice.
Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination (Class 12/ Equivalent) for admission to B.E./B.Tech, B. Arch, and B. Planning Courses in NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs are as follows:
B.E./B.Tech: Passed qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects.
B.Arch: Passed qualifying examination with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
B.Planning: Passed qualifying examination with Mathematics.
Admission to B.E. / B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Planning. Courses in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs will be based on All India Rank subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the Class 12 examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the Class 12/qualifying examination. The candidate is also required to pass in each of the subjects of Class 12 / qualifying examination.
