Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2023 for admission to the Bachelors, Integrated Masters, Bachelor-Master Dual Degree in Engineering, Sciences and Architecture at 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) will be held on June 04, 2023 (Sunday). It will consist of 2 papers. Paper 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 noon and Paper 2, from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm (IST).
Each question paper will consist of three separate sections with questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The syllabi for the test is given in Annexure-I of the JEE Advanced Information Brochure 2023 at https://jeeadv.ac.in/.
Based on the examination, admissions will be made to (i) B.Tech - 4 years (ii) B.S. - 4 years (iii) B.Arch. - 5 years (iv) Dual Degree B.Tech.-M.Tech - 5 years (v) Dual Degree B.S.-M.S - 5 years (vi) Integrated M.Tech. - 5 years and (vii) Integrated M.Sc - 5 years.
Eligibility: (i) A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) maximum of two times in two consecutive years (ii) Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in B.E./B.Tech. paper of JEE (Main) 2023 (iii) Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1998. SC, ST, and PwD candidates will get 5 years age relaxation. Appliocants of these categories born on or after October 1, 1993 are eligible (iv) Candidate should have appeared for the Class XII/equivalent examination for the first time in either 2022 or 2023 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects (v) A candidate should not have been admitted to an IIT irrespective of whether or not the candidate continued in the program or accepted an IIT seat by reporting ‘online’ / at a ‘reporting centre’ in the past.
Registration: Eligible candidates have to register at https://jeeadv.ac.in for appearing for JEE (Advanced) 2023 after the results of Paper 1 of JEE Main 2023 is declared. Online registration begins at 10 am on April 30, 2023 (Sunday) and will close at 5 pm on May 04, 2023 (Thursday). Fee payment by registered candidates should be done latest by 5 pm on May 05, 2023 (Friday). For Indian Nationals, application fee for females, SC, ST, and PwD candidates is Rs.1450/-. It is Rs.2900/- for all others.
Only candidates who appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be considered for ranking. A candidate is said to have qualified in JEE (Advanced) if he/she secures the minimum percentage of marks in each subject and in aggregate, as per respective category and as per the details given in the Information Brochure. Results of JEE Advanced are likely to be declared on June 18, 2023.
Candidates included in the JEE Advanced Rank list, desirous of joining the B. Arch. program at IITs at BHU Varanasi, Kharagpur and Roorkee will have to register for Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) after the rank list is published and qualify in that. Only those candidates who have qualified in JEE (Advanced) 2023 are eligible to appear in AAT 2023. There is no ranking for AAT. Admission to B.Arch will be based on JEE Advanced Rank.
For admission to IITs, Candidates must satisfy at least one of the following two criteria with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in the year of first appearance in the Class XII/ equivalent examination: (i) Must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII/ equivalent Board examination. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65% (ii) must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.
