Fellowship/Research grant schemes of UGC: Apply by October 10

University Grants Commission (UGC) has invited applications under various Fellowship/research grant schemes.

The following are the schemes and eligibility for applying:

Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Fellowship for Single Girl Child: To be awarded to single girl child of her parents pursuing a regular, full-time Ph.D. in any stream/subject in recognised Universities/Colleges/ Institutes. Applicant should not be over 40 years (45 years for reserved categories).

Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Post-Doctoral Fellowship: To be given to unemployed candidates who have been awarded the Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject/discipline of Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences including languages. Age of applicant must be below 35 years (30 years for reserved categories). Applicant should have 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) at Post graduate level. Applicant should identify a Mentor/Supervisor (affiliated to University/Institute wherein Post-Doctoral Fellowship is tenable) for his/her post-doctoral research work and obtain his/her consent.

Dr. D. S. Kothari Research Grant for Newly Recruited Faculty Members: All those appointed at the level of Assistant Professor against permanent posts in university shall be eligible to receive financial support under the scheme. The Assistant professor should possess Ph.D. degree with minimum five (5) research papers to his / her credit, published in journals of international repute. The Assistant Professor should apply for the grant within a period of two years from the date of joining the post in the Department / University.

Research Grant for In-Service Faculty Members: Faculty members regularly appointed and working in specified institutions are eligible to apply under the scheme. Applicant should have a minimum 10 years of service left in the University from the date of submission of his / her application. Applicant should not be over 50 years. Applicant must have successfully supervised Ph.D. dissertation of 5 full-time candidates. Applicant must have successfully completed at least 2 sponsored research projects funded by national / international government or private agencies.

Fellowship for Superannuated Faculty Members: Faculty members at the level of Professors/Associate professors, who are going to superannuate within six months or already superannuated from specified institutions are eligible to apply under the scheme. Age should not exceed 67 years. Applicant must have successfully supervised the Ph.D. dissertations of 10 full time candidates, 3 of whom having received their degrees during the preceding 10 years. Applicant must have handled, as Principal Investigator, at least 3 sponsored research projects funded by national / international agencies.
