Central Teacher Eligibility Test Unit, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi PS 1-2, Institutional Area, I P Extension, Patparganj, Delhi-110092 has invited applications for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), July, 2023.
CTET is a minimum qualification for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII.
There will be two papers of CTET. Paper I will be for those who intend to be a teacher for classes I to V and Paper II will be for those who intend to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII. Those who intend to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II). Each paper will be of 2 and a half hour’s duration and will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate. Each question carries one mark and there will be no negative marking.
Structure and content of CTET:
Paper I (for Classes I to V) will have questions from (i) Child Development and Pedagogy (compulsory) (ii) Language I (compulsory) (iii) Language II (compulsory) (iv) Mathematics (v) Environmental Studies. There will be 30 questions from each section.
Paper II (for Classes VI to VIII) will have questions from (i) Child Development & Pedagogy(compulsory) (ii) Language I (compulsory) (iii) Language II (compulsory) (iv) Mathematics and Science (for Mathematics and Science teacher) or (v) Social Studies/Social Science. Sections (i) to (iii) will have 30 questions each while sections (iv) and (v) will have 60 questions each.

The minimum qualifications for appearing in the CTET are as notified by NCTE. Candidates may visit https://ncte.gov.in to ascertain their eligibility.
Application: Application can be submitted online at https://ctet.nic.in/ latest by 11.59 pm on 26.5.2023.
Examination fee for Paper - I or II will be Rs.1000/- and for both Paper - I &II, it will be Rs.1200/. For SC/ST/Differently Abled Person, they will be Rs. 500/- and Rs.600/- respectively. Application fee also has to be remitted online by 11.59 pm on 26.5.2023 by Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking.
Examination will be held during July, 2023 to August, 2023 in Computer Based Test (CBT) Mode.
