CAT 2023 for Management Admissions on November 26: Apply by September 13

The Indian Institutes of Management will conduct a computer-based Common Admission Test 2023 (CAT 2023), a prerequisite for admission to various Post Graduate and Fellow/Doctorate programmes of Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), on November 26, 2023 in three sessions.

IIMs are located at Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bodh Gaya, Calcutta, Indore, Jammu, Kashipur, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Sambalpur, Shillong, Sirmaur, Tiruchirappalli, Udaipur and Visakhapatnam.

CAT 2023 scores are allowed to be used by listed non-IIM member institutions. A list of such institutions is provided at www.iimcat.ac.in. However, IIMs have no role in the selection process of non-IIM institutions.

CAT 2023 will have three sections- Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, Section III: Quantitative Ability. Details of the examination are given in the FAQ section at the website.

Eligibility: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, with at least 50% marks (45% for SC, ST, PwD categories) or equivalent CGPA. Those appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. However, such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of their University/Institution (issued on or before the date as stipulated by the respective IIM) stating that they have completed all the requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.

Those who have completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA/Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI)) with required percentage may also apply.

Reservations: Information regarding reservation of seats for various categories of applicants is available at the CAT website. No change in the category will be entertained after CAT registration.

Test Centres: CAT will be conducted in test centres spread across around 155 test cities. Candidates will be given the option to select any six test cities in order of their preference.

Application: Application can be submitted online at www.iimcat.ac.in by 5 pm on September 13, 2023.

Registration Fees: Registration fee is Rs.1200/- for SC, ST and PwD category applicants and Rs.2400/- for all other categories of candidates. An applicant needs to pay the registration fees only once, irrespective of the number of institutes he/she is applying for.

Admit card can be downloaded during October 25 – November 26, 2023

Result declaration is expected in the second week of January, 2024 (Tentative).
