LBS Centre for Science and Technology on behalf of Directorate of Technical Education Government of Kerala, has invited applications for admission to the Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT), Kerala 2022-23 offered in 8 Self-financing Colleges in Kerala and affiliated to Kerala Technological University (3), MG University (1), Calicut University (1) and Kerala University (3).

BHMCT is a professional programme that equips students with the skills and knowledge required for employment in the hotel sector or for starting their own business. It is a comprehensive course that emphasizes both topic knowledge and hands-on training for problems that may arise in everyday life. The programme offers students the opportunity to study cooking at a level comparable to chefs and pursue it as a profession. The Program is suitable for those interested in the industries of hotel management, travel, and tourism.

Eligibility: Only Indian citizens are eligible for admission unless otherwise notified. Overseas Citizen of India Cardholder (including PIO cardholder) shall be eligible for admission only against any Non-Resident Indian seat or any supernumerary seat. Keralites, Non-Keralite Category I (NK I) and Non-Keralites Category II (NK II) are eligible for admission to the course subject to the eligibility fixed for each category and detailed in the Prospectus available at www.lbscentre.in

Academic Eligibility: Applicant should have passed Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) conducted by the Board of HSE Kerala or examination equivalent there to as approved by the affiliating universities of the respective colleges with minimum marks as prescribed by the respective universities.

Selection Process: The selection will be based on the Kerala Hotel Management Aptitude Test (KHMAT) to be conducted by LBS Centre. Entrance Examination will be of 90 minutes’ duration to be conducted at various centres will have objective type multiple choice questions from (i) Basic Mathematics (20 questions) (ii) Communication Skill (20) (iii) General Knowledge and Current Affairs (20) (iv) Hospitality and Catering Technology awareness (30). Each question will carry 1 mark. No marks will be deducted for incorrect response. Date of examination will be notified later.

Selection to Government Seats will be based on the rank in KHMAT. Selection to Management Seats will be done directly by the management based on valid KHMAT score or score of any recognized national level entrance examinations for BHMCT course.

Application: Applications can be submitted online at www.lbscntre.in latest by 20.8.2022. Application fee is Rs.1200/- (RS.600/- for SC/ST). The amount can be paid online or by way of cash at branches of Federal Bank in Kerala, using the challan that can be downloaded while submitting the application.
