Application for issue of ‘Ward of IP Certificate’ for MBBS/BDS Admissions: Apply by May 17

Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has notified the details of the scheme of admissions for wards of Insured Persons to MBBS/BDS Programmes in ESIC and some Government Medical and Dental Colleges for 2023-24.

A total of 437 seats for MBBS and 28 seats for BDS have been reserved for wards of insured persons (IPs) in 11 Medical and 1 Dental Colleges for 2023-24. The list of institutions and seat availability at each are given in the detailed Notification issued by ESIC and available at ‘Admissions’ link at https://www.esic.gov.in/

Eligibility of Insured person for availing benefit under the ‘Seats allocated for wards of insured persons (IPs)’ for his / her child / children would be 30th September, 2022. Only a person who is ‘Insured Person’ as per the Act, as on 30.9.2022 would be eligible for availing benefit under the ‘Seats allocated for wards of insured persons (IPs)’ for his / her child / children. The age of dependent male ‘Ward of IP’ for eligibility under the ‘Seats allocated for wards of insured persons (IPs)’ should not be more than 21 years as on 15.04.2023, the last date of submission of application form for NEET- UG 2023. The said date would not apply to dependent unmarried female ‘Ward of IP’ as per provisions of the ESI Act, 1948.

Available seats for ‘Seats allocated for wards of insured persons (IPs)’ in various States will be pooled on ‘All India Basis’ and allotted, amongst the wards of Insured persons (IPs). Reservation policy of Central Government for SC / ST / OBC / PH / EWS etc. will be followed for allotment of seats.

Those seeking admission under ‘Seats allocated for wards of insured persons (IPs)’ will have to fulfil the following eligibility criteria: (a) Minimum eligibility criteria for admission will be as per MCC/ NTA/NEET/NMC/DCI regulations (b) Applicant must have a valid ‘Ward of Insured Person Certificate’, issued by ESIC.

On-line applications can be submitted at https://www.esic.gov.in/ for issue of ‘Ward of IP Certificate’ (through quick links) latest by 23.59 hrs on 17.5.2023. Applicant must upload all the required documents in the online application as given in the detailed Notification at ‘Admissions’ link at https://www.esic.gov.in/

A system generated ‘Ward of IP Certificate’ will be available for downloading after approval of Competent Authority. Candidate can track the status [(i) Issued; or (ii) Rejected] of the certificate on ESIC website using the username and password. In the event of issue, the certificate in PDF format would be visible to the candidate and printout can be taken after downloading the certificate. In the event of rejection, the reason would be displayed.

The last date for issue of ‘Ward of IP Certificate’ is 19.5.2023. Any change in date would be published on the ESIC website.

Registration for participating in Counselling must be done later at DGHS website www.mcc.nic.in as and when the process starts after declaration of the results of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET UG) 2023. Eligible candidates should register themselves for the MBBS / BDS seats under ‘Seats allocated for wards of insured persons (IPs)’ in ESIC Medical / Dental Colleges as per instructions given on the website.
