UG Admissions at Divyangjan Institutions: Apply by May 25
National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities (NILD), Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DIVYANGJAN), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India; B T Road, Bonhooghly, Kolkata-700090, has invited applications for admission to the Bachelors Programmes in Prosthetics & Orthotics (BPO); Physiotherapy (BPT) and Occupational Therapy (BOT) of 4 years and 6 months duration, offered at National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities (NILD), Kolkata; Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR), Cuttack and National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD), Chennai, for 2018-19.
The eligibility criteria for different centres and Programmes are as follows. Applicants should be Indian Nationals.
NILD, Kolkata: For admission to the BPO, BOT and BPT Programmes at NILD, Kolkata, applicant should have passed 10+2 (Higher/Senior Secondary Examination) ISc or equivalent with Physics (P), Chemistry (C), Biology(B) or Mathematics (M) and English with minimum aggregate of 50% in PCB/PCM taken together for General/OBC and 40% for SC/ST & PH candidates
NIEPMD, Chennai: For admission to BOT and BPT applicant should have passed 10+2 (Higher/Senior Secondary Examination) I. Sc. or equivalent- recognized examination with Physics (P), Chemistry (C), Biology (B)/Botany and Zoology and English
SVNIRTAR, Cuttack: For BPO, applicant should have passed 10+2 in science or equivalent with Physics (P), Chemistry (C), Biology (B)/Mathematics (M) with minimum 50% in PCB/PCM and other test will be eligible. SC/ST and PH candidates, the minimum mark should be 40% and 45% respectively
For BOT and BPT, applicant should have passed the qualifying 12th standard/I.Sc or equivalent examination having English as a subject and a minimum of 50%in science with Physics (P), Chemistry (C), Biology (B) as mandatory subjects. For SC/ST and PH candidates, the minimum mark should be 40% and 45% respectively.
Those who have appeared in the qualifying examination with essential subjects and results are awaited, can also apply and appear in the entrance test subject to submission of documentary evidence of having passed the qualifying examination with required percentage at the time of counseling.
Those who have discontinued their regular study for more than 3 years are not eligible. National Institute of Open School (NIOS) applicants are eligible subject to the conditions specified in the Information Brochure available at http://niohkol.nic.in/cet2018.html
Entrance Test: Admission will be based on a Common Entrance Test to be held on 17th June 2018 (Sunday) from 11 am to 1 pm at Agartala, Aizwal, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Guwahati, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Naharlagun, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Secunderabad, Siliguri, Srinagar and Trivandrum.
The entrance test shall have one paper with 100 multiple choices objective type questions of one mark each, in two parts. Part-A will have questions from General Ability & General Knowledge carrying 10 Marks and Part B will have questions worth 30 marks each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology & Botany) or Mathematics, based on Senior Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) Curriculum. The Questions will be multiple choices objective type of 10+2 standard.

The filled-in Application Form complete in all respect should be submitted in Person or by Speed Post so as to reach office of ‘The Chairman, CET-2018 C/O Director National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities (NILD) BT Road, Bonhooghly, Kolkata, West Bengal-700 090’, by 25th May, 2018. Offline payment of application fee can be made through a Demand Draft of 750/- for General/OBC/NE & 600/- for SC, ST & PH candidates, in favour of ‘Director, National Institute for Orthopaedically Handicapped (NIOH)’, payable at Kolkata to be sent along with the duly filled downloaded form.
Admit Cards of eligible candidates can be downloaded from http://niohkol.nic.in/ from 02 June 2018. For offline / manual applications, the admit card will be sent through Speed post.
