Trade Apprentices at IGCAR Kalpakkam: Apply from April 10
Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam, Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has notified the engagement of Trade Apprentices under Apprentices Act 1961.
The selection is only for Apprenticeship training on stipendiary basis. The engagement and training will be as per the provisions of the Apprentices Act 1961 and there is no guarantee for employment of the Apprentices on completion of their training. Training will be at Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam-603 102.
The number of Apprentices to be recruited is 130 (indicative) in the trades of Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Electrician, Welder (G&E), Electronic Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Draughtsman (Mechanical), Draughtsman (Civil), (Mechanic RBA/C, Carpenter, Mechanical Machine Tool Maintenance, Plumber, Mason/Civil Mistry, Book Binder and PASAA(Programming and System Administration Assistant).

Eligibility: For all positions except PASAA (Programming and System Administration Assistant), eligibility is a pass in 10th Std. examination under 10+2 system of education or its equivalent and ITI certificate (in same Trade) after a course of minimum two years.
For Programming and System Administration Assistant, applicant should have passed 10th Std. examination under 10+2 system of education or its equivalent and should have National Trade Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training in ‘Computer Operator and Programming Assistant’.
Age: Applicant should not be less than 16 years and over 22 years as on 24.04.2019. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST applicants, by 3 years for OBC applicants, by 10 years for Persons with Disability (PWD+OBC-13 years; PWD +SC/ST-15 years).
Apprentice Registration: Applicants are required to first register in the apprenticeship portal www.apprenticeship.gov.in and enter the Apprentice registration number in the online Application form to be submitted to IGCAR subsequently. Applicants are required to carry the confirmation email obtained of Apprentice Registration, at the time of appearing for interview of IGCAR.
Application: Applications can be submitted online at www.igcar.gov.in from 10 am on 10.04.2019 to 5 pm on 24.04.2019 under the tab ‘Recruitment’. Application should be submitted only for the designated trade mentioned in the Notification and applicant should possess ITI certificate in the same trade
Selection will be made through interview the date of which will be notified in due course. Eligible, registered and interested candidates should bring documents specified, at the time of appearing for Interview, the date, time and venue of which will be informed to the candidate later, by e-mail. The documents include, Printout of the Online application form, with recent passport size photograph pasted, Original and self-attested Photo copies of (i) Date of birth certificate (ii) Community certificate in the prescribed format (iii) All education certificates (iv) ITI Mark sheet and NCVT/SCVT Certificate (v) AADHAAR card (vi) Proof of Mother's Name (vii) Confirmation copy of Apprentice Registration through Apprentice portal www.apprenticeship.gov.in (viii) Experience Certificate/any other relevant certificate. The application forms should be accompanied by two recent conduct certificates in original from 2 Gazetted Officers.
Those who have already availed the apprenticeship will not be considered. Period of Training will be as provided in Schedule-I to Apprentice Rules, 1991. Amount of Stipend will be as notified from time to time by Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGET), Ministry of Labour and Employment, New Delhi.
Selected candidates should submit Police Verification Certificate from local Police Station. Selected candidates should pass the Medical Examination prescribed by the Competent Authority before being appointed as Apprentices.
Every Apprentice who completed training will have to appear for All India Trade Test to be conducted by the National Council for Training in Vocational Trade to determine the proficiency in the designated trade in which he/she has served as an Apprentice. Certificate of proficiency would be given in the trade by the National Council.
