Sub Officer Course at National Fire Service College: Apply by September 29
National Fire Service College, Rajnagar, Nagpur -440013, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has invited applications for the 43rd All India Entrance Examination for Sub-Officers Course, for admission to the 2 batches (45th and 46th) of the residential, External Sub Officer Course to be conducted during the year 2020 at National Fire Service College, Nagpur or any of the Regional Training Centre (RTC) identified by the College.
The duration of the Sub Officers Course is 33 weeks out of which 21 weeks will be conducted at the RTC and 12 weeks practical attachment at major Fire Services in the country at the discretion of the College.
Selection will be based on an entrance examination to be held at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Nagpur on 13.10.2019 (Sunday). The Question paper will be printed bilingually (Hindi & English) except for General English. The question paper will be objective type and will consist of questions from Science and Mathematics also. The exact date, time and venue of the examination will be intimated individually to eligible candidates by email.
Eligibility: Applicant should be a Graduate from recognized University or should hold a 3 years Diploma in any branch of Engineering recognized by A.I.C.T.E. or Board of Technical Education. Applicant should have passed the qualifying examination as on or before 31st August 2019. Applicants must be able to read, write, speak both in Hindi and English.
Applicant should be between 18 and 25 years of age as on 1 January 2020. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. All reserved candidates will be required to produce relevant valid documents as a proof of caste for obtaining age relaxation as required by the Government of India. The candidates availing age relaxation for SC/ST or OBC will be as per Government Rules
Physical Standard: (a) For Male Minimum:- Height: 165 cms. (Relaxable by 5 cms in the case of Nepali, Garhwalls, Assamese, Gorkha & Nagaland tribes); Chest: 81 cms unexpanded with minimum expansion of 5 cms; Weight: min. 50 kgs.
(b) For Female Minimum:- Height: 157 cms. (Relaxable by 2.5 cms in the case of Garhwalls, Assamese, Gorkha & Nagaland tribes); Weight: min. 46 kgs.
Medical Standard : (a) Visual: Better eye-6/6 (Eligible vision-6/6 only) without aid (b) Color vision:- No colour blindness (c) The candidate must not have knock-nee, flat feet, squint eyes and stammering. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect.
Only those candidates found eligible for the written examination will be sent Admit Card. The candidates should periodically check their Mail-Id for any communication from NFSC regarding

Examination Fees: Fee for unreserved and OBC applicants is Rs.100/- and for SC/ST applicants, it is Rs.25/-. Fees shall be paid by Online Payment through NEFT and any generated Ref.No./Transaction No./UTR No. should be filled in the appropriate column of the application form .
Admit card will sent to those candidates found eligible as per eligibility rules for the written examination. NFSC will display the list of candidates selected to appear in the Entrance Examination on its website www.nfscnagpur.nic.in.
Results will be communicated individually to the selected candidates by email only. Admission will be granted to the candidates based on the overall order of merit on the basis of written examination and as per the rules of reservation.
The originals of all the documents shall have to be produced when the candidate appears for document verification.
Seats: There are a total of 30 seats for each batch of 45th & 46th External Sub Officers Course. The reservations for SC, ST and OBC will be as per Government of India norms. The Course shall begin in January 2020 and July 2020. Any Seats left vacant will be filled from respective vacant Category.
The course is residential and Lodging and Boarding is compulsory. The actual fees for accommodation and food may vary depending on the Regional Training Centre to which the candidates are admitted.
The candidates will have to produce the original documents in support of their academic qualification and claim for reservation for belonging to particular category at the time of admission also. The candidates claiming reservation under OBC category shall have to produce a certificate in the format prescribed.
