Research admissions at Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics
Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, an autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science &Technology, Govt. of India; Inner Ring Road, Uppal, Hyderabad, Telangana - 500039, has notified the admission to the full time residential Research Scholars Program - II -2019.
Research areas: The Centre has invited applications from highly motivated candidates, willing to take up challenges in modem biology, for the program. Keeping in view the interdisciplinary nature of modem biology, the centre especially encourages persons from diverse backgrounds to apply.
The current research themes include, Molecular Microbiology; Computational and Structural Biology; Cancer and Stem Cell Biology; Genetics and Epigenetics; Cell Signalling; Molecular and Cellular Biology and Molecular Pathogenesis.
Eligibility: Applicant must have completed (i) Master's degree in any branch of Science, Technology or Agriculture or MBBS from a recognized University/ Institute. Those who have not completed the course are not eligible.
Applicant should have qualified CSIR / UGC / DBT / ICMR / INSPIRE NET JRF / UGC-RGNF (or similar) or have qualified BINC examination conducted by the DBT with fellowship or JEST with fellowship. A valid fellowship is an absolute requirement for pursuing Ph.D. at CDFD.
Selection: Admission to CDFD-Research Scholars Program is based on a Walk-in interview starting on 3rd February 2020. As there would be more than one round of interviews, the candidates should plan to stay in Hyderabad till 5th February, 2020. If the candidates appearing for interview are more in numbers, written examination will be conducted on 3 February 2020, for short-listing the candidates for interview.

The printout of the completed application form along with the copies of certificates in support of date of birth, educational qualifications, caste and NET fellowship etc. should be sent to ‘The Dean -Academics, Centre for DNA Fingerprinting & Diagnostics, Inner Ring Road, Uppal, Hyderabad - 500039’.
Those who apply after 24 January 2020 should take the print out of the filled-in application form and bring it with them to CDFD on 3 Feruary 2020 along with the copies of the certificates specified.
In case of those who are not able to apply online, ‘Spot Registration’ can be done on 3 February 2020. Candidates should report at CDFD on 3 February 2020 at 8 a.m with all the required documents (in original) along with two recent passport size photographs and copies of all the Certificates for completing the formalities/verification of documents.
Those admitted as Research Scholars would be encouraged to apply for the Ph.D. program of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, University of Hyderabad, Regional Centre for Biotechnology or AcSIR.
