POCE Programme at JNCASR: Apply by March 2
Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), a Deemed University, located at Jakkur, Bangalore-560064, has invited applications for its Project Oriented Chemistry Education (POCE) Programmes-2018.
JNCASR, as part of its Science Outreach Programme, conducts the POCE programmes, for students to explore their academic potential, stimulate deeper interest in science and infuse creativity and scientific temper amongst undergraduate students. Selected students will be given an opportunity to attend lectures, participate in laboratory projects and research. The programme will be conducted during the summer vacation for a period of 6 to 8 weeks over three consecutive summers. Selected students are expected to commit to the programme for three years and successful candidates will receive a Diploma in Chemistry from the Centre. Where possible, students may be permitted to additionally participate in research at the Centre during mid-semester vacations as well. Specialization in advanced materials will be possible during the last year. Those who complete the POCE programme with outstanding performance will be eligible for admission to the MS-PhD programme in the Centre subject to a satisfactory performance in the interview.
Eligibility: For POCE, Applicant should be presently studying in 1st year of three year B.Sc programme, preferably with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) combination.
Fellowships: A maximum of 11 fellowships carrying a scholarship of Rs. 6000/- per month will be offered under POCE.

The completed application form should reach ‘The Academic Coordinator, Fellowships & Extension Programmes, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Jakkur P.O, Bangalore-560 064’, by post only, latest by March 2, 2018. The completed application form is to be accompanied by two confidential reports from the Referees (in sealed envelopes in the format given with the application) and attested copies of statement of marks by the Principal. The completed application form with all documents should reach the Academic Coordinator, JNCASR by 2 March, 2018.
Those selected will be intimated of their selection by first week of April, 2018. The list of selected students will also be available at JNCASR website. Selected candidates have to indicate their acceptance within two weeks of the email sent to them, failing which; it will be presumed that they are not interested in joining the programme and the offer will be cancelled automatically.
