Online Summer School on Remote Sensing & GIS for Environmental Studies
Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun, a constituent unit of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), engaged in imparting training and education in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS Sciences, has invited applications for admission to the Online Summer School on 'Usefulness of Remote Sensing & GIS for Environmental Studies to be held from July 26-30, 2021.
The course for secondary and higher secondary school students will focus on principles of Remote Sensing & GIS and its applications for environmental studies. The course is intended to engage to create awareness about Remote Sensing Technology & its use for the study of mother planet Earth and its environment through informative lectures and demonstrations which would help the students to understand the importance of remote sensing and then in career decision making.
Every day, there shall be two online lectures of 45 minutes each, one at 1000 hrs and another at 1200 hrs. The lectures will be streamed live at IIRS YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/user/edusat2004
The students can ask questions through YouTube Chat Box. Few questions will be answered by Faculty after the lecture. Every day, there will be a quiz based on two lectures delivered. A certificate will be awarded if the total score of the quiz is at least 55%.
Application: Indian school students of 10th, 11th, and 12th standard can apply online for summer school at
https://admission.iirs.gov.in/coursecalender by July 20, 2021. Once the application is submitted, the student will get login credentials for LMS portal on his/her email. Details may be seen in the Notification.
