Management Programmes at Delhi University
New Delhi: Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) University of Delhi has invited applications for admission to the various Management Programmes offered by it, beginning in July-2018.
The programmes include (i) Two-year Full Time MBA (ii) Two-year Evening MBA Executive (iii) Two-year evening MBA Executive (Health Care Administration) (iv) Ph.D.
Eligibility for MBA: Applicant should have completed a Bachelor’s Degree Programme after twelve years of formal schooling with at least 50% marks at graduation level. SC/ST applicants need only pass marks while OBC/PWD/CW (Children/Widows of eligible Armed Forces Personnel) need only 45% or equivalent CGPA. Those appearing for the final year examination of Bachelor’s Degree may also apply irrespective of their percentage of scores obtained till the time of application, subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria and submission of results at the time of admission. Applicants should appear for CAT 2017.
Shortlisting of Candidates for Personal Interview will be done by assigning different weightages to the scores of different sections of CAT 2017. A composite score shall be computed giving weightages of 30%, 30%, and 40% to the scores of QA, DI/LR and VRC sections respectively as provided by the CAT Centre for the CAT 2017 Examination. An additional 3 marks shall be added to the Composite Score so computed in case of women candidates for the purpose of shortlisting.
Merit List: Admission to MBA Programme will be based on Extempore Speech, Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Class X & Class XII marks and CAT 2017 scores. Weightage will be as follows for CAT 2017 Score - 60%; Marks obtained in Class X - 5%, Marks obtained in Class XII-5%, Group Discussion-10%, Extempore-5% and Personal Interview-15%. An additional 3% of the maximum aggregate marks shall be awarded to the women candidates who appear for the interview while drawing the list of selected candidates.
Candidates should produce their original certificates and mark sheets at the time of the interview.
The annual fee payable for MBA programme is approximately Rs 10,000.
The total number of seats is 200. Of this, 101 are Unreserved (General). Seats are reserved for SC-30, ST-15 and OBC-54. In addition, there are supernumerary seats for PWD-10, CW-10, FS-10.
Eligibility for Ph.D: Applicant must have obtained a Master’s/M. Phil. degree of the University of Delhi or any other recognized University or a Post-graduate Degree in an allied subject equivalent thereof securing a minimum of 55% marks. Those having a MBA/Master’s Degree in an allied subject from University of Delhi or equivalent would be required to appear for CAT 2017 for admission to the Ph.D. Programme. Applicants should appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT). Short listed candidates will thereafter be required to submit the registration form to the Board of Research Studies at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, latest by February 28, 2018.
Teachers of University of Delhi holding permanent, temporary or ad-hoc positions and having completed two years of service as teacher in a Department/Constituent College of University of Delhi, those in receipt of national fellowships such as (i) University Teaching Assistantship (ii) JRF through UGC/NET and CSIR/NET (iii) Fellowship of CSIR/ICAR/ICSSR/ICHR/ICMR or from any other recognized Government Institutions/Organizations (iv) Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowships of UGC for SC/ST (v) SAP Fellowships of UGC (vi) Project JRF/Project Assistant (vii) Candidates with UGC (Non-NET) Fellowship are exempted from the stipulation of appearance in the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017. However, these categories of applicants will also have to apply by the stipulated date (November 20, 2017).
All eligible candidates, including those declared successful in the CAT 2017, will be required to appear for a personal interview.
The students will be selected in various functional areas, such as Organisational Behaviour, Human Resources Management, Marketing Management, Management of Information Technology, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Production & Operations Management, Management Science and Managerial Economics.
Executive MBA Programs: For admission to the Evening MBA Executive Programme, applicant should hold a Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years’ duration, after 12 years of formal schooling, with at least 45% marks aggregate or equivalent grade in any of Arts, Commerce, Social Sciences, Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Medicine, Engineering or Technology disciplines.
For the evening MBA Executive (Health Care Administration) Programme, applicant should have a Bachelor’s Degree with 45% aggregate marks in Medicine (MBBS)/Dentistry (BDS)/Biotechnology/Genomics/Genetics/ Nursing/Bioengineering/ Alternate Systems of Medicine/ Paramedical Disciplines/ Pharmacology/Anthropology/Zoology or an examination recognized as equivalent.
For both the Executive Programs, applicants should have at least 5 years of experience as an executive or an administrator in a commercial/industrial/government establishment/registered organization after passing the Bachelor’s examination. Experience will be computed as on 1st April, 2018. Applicants have to enclose No Objection Certificate/Sponsorship Certificate in the prescribed format from the employer along with the application acknowledgement form.
There are 159 seats for the MBA Executive Programme and 39 seats for MBA Executive (Health Care Administration) Programme.
Reservations of seats for different categories will be as per the University rules.
Admissions will be based on Academic, Executive Experience, General Ability Test and Interview. A person can apply for one or more Programs. The Programmes will commence in July, 2018.
Application: Applications can be registered for each Programme separately at www.fms.edu by filling the online registration form and paying the fee of Rs.1000/- (Rs.350/- for SC/ST/PwD) for each Programme, latest by 20th November, 2017.
All applicants are required to send the computer generated Application acknowledgment form after online registration, along with supporting documents, to reach Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007, latest by 16th December, 2017. Those applying against the reserved seats need to send self-attested photocopy of the concerned certificate.
