Department of Sports Science, National Institute of Nutrition (under the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR)), Hyderabad, Telangana - 500 007, has invited applications for admission to the two years M.Sc. (Sports Nutrition) Programme offered under MoU with Osmania University, Hyderabad for the academic year 2019-21. The Programme is supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
Eligibility: Applicant must have passed B.Sc. in Home Science (with specialization in Food & Nutrition) / Nutrition / Food & Nutrition / Applied Nutrition & Public Health / Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics / Food Science & Quality Control or B.Sc. in Life Sciences-Botany/ Zoology / Genetics / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology or MBBS or BAMS with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. SC/ST applicants need only 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

They can also be obtained in person from the ‘Head, MYAS-NIN Department of Sports Science, ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition, Jamai-Osmania PO, Opp. Tarnaka Metro Station, Hyderabad-500007’, latest by 5 pm on 14.06.2019.
The duly filled in applications, along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 3000/- (for OC/BC/OBC Candidates) and Rs. 2700/- (for SC/ST Candidates) towards registration fee from any nationalised bank drawn in favour of ‘The Director, NIN’, payable at Hyderabad and necessary enclosures should be submitted to the ‘Head, MYAS-NIN Department of Sports Science, ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition, Jamai-Osmania PO, Opp. Tarnaka Metro Station, Hyderabad-500007’, latest by 5 pm on 14.06.2019. Applications will be accepted till 5 pm on 19.06.2019 with a late fee of Rs.500/- and till 5 pm on 21.06.2019 with a late fee of Rs.2000/-.
Number of seats: There are 15 seats for the Programme. Out of this, 5 seats are reserved for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh (State quota) and 10 seats are reserved for the applicants outside Telangana & Andhra Pradesh (Central Quota).
Entrance Test: Selection to the Programme will be based on an Entrance Test to be conducted on 05.07.2019 (Friday) at 11 am and will be of 90 minutes duration. The Test will have objective type, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) for 100 marks from General Knowledge and Aptitude (20 questions); Nutrition (40) Physiology (20) and Biochemistry (20). Each question carries 1 mark. The syllabus for the entrance examination is of graduation level and the question paper will be in English. SC and ST candidates need 45 marks to qualify in the Entrance Test. Candidates of other categories need 50 marks to qualify.
Entrance Examination will be conducted only if the number of applications is more than fifty. If the number of applications received is less than fifty, selection will be based on the merit in the qualifying degree examination.
The list of eligible candidates to appear for the test will be uploaded on NIN’s Website on 25.06.2019. The candidates should download their hall tickets from www.nin.res.in from 25.06.2019. Results of the Entrance Test will be uploaded at www.nin.res.in on 12.07.2019. First Counselling session will be held at NIN on 22.07.2019 from 10 am onwards. Classes will commence on 5.8.2019.
