Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has invited applications for two Masters level training courses being conducted at the Radiation Medicine Centre, BARC under the aegis of Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), Mumbai.
The full time courses of two academic years are (i) M.Sc. Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and (ii) M.Sc. (Hospital Radiopharmacy).
M.Sc. Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging course equips candidates for working as Nuclear Medicine Technologists / Faculty in Nuclear Medicine Centers / Teaching institutes.
Applicant should have passed B.Sc. with Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics or B.Sc. in Life Sciences with Physics as a subject or B.Sc. in Nuclear Medicine from a recognised University with 50% marks in aggregate in Science Subjects at B.Sc. level.
M.Sc. (Hospital Radiopharmacy) course equips candidates for working as Radiopharmacist / Faculty in Nuclear Medicine Centers.
Applicant should have passed B.Sc. with Chemistry as one of the subjects at B.Sc level and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology as subjects at H.S.C. level or should have passed B.Pharm from a recognised University scoring a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Science Subjects at B.Sc./B.Pharrn level.
For both the Programmes, applicant should not be more than 35 years as on 1.5.2020. Upper age limit is relaxed for SC/ST by 5 years, for OBC by 3 years, PH and sponsored candidates by 10 years.
There are 5 seats under Non-sponsored and 5 seats under Sponsored category for each course. One seat is reserved for SC/ST/OBC candidate either from sponsored or non- sponsored category. Those selected under non-sponsored category, will get a monthly Stipend of Rs.15,000/-
Selection: Selection to the two programmes will be based on a Common Admission Test (CAT) with 150 Multiple Choice Questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology of Standard XII or equivalent level. The details of venue, date and time of CAT will be notified later. Minimum marks to qualify in CAT will be 50%.
A merit list of candidates qualifying the CAT will be made and candidates will be called in order of merit to attend Counseling Session. The date and venue for Counseling will be notified later.
