Law Admissions at National Law University, Delhi
National Law University, Delhi, a University of Law Established by NCT of Delhi, and located Sector-14, Dwarka, New Delhi-110078, has invited applications for admission to the B.A.LL.B (Hons), LL.M and Ph.D Programmes for the Academic Year 2018-19, commencing in August, 2018.
Selection: Admission to B.A.LL.B (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes will be through AILET to be conducted at Amritsar, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, and Varanasi from 3 pm to 4.30 pm on May 6, 2018 (Sunday).
B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) (5-Year): Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or equivalent examination with 50% marks. Those appearing in the 12th standard examination in March/April, 2018, can also apply. There are 80 seats of which, 70 seats will be filled on merit through All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and 10 Seats by direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit. However, Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET. But they should have obtained 65% marks in the qualifying examination. Reservation will be 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST & 5% for PwD categories. There will also be 1 additional seat for Kashmiri migrants and 2 supernumerary seats for Residents of Jammu & Kashmir.
LL.M (1 Year): LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities). Those appearing in final year LL.B. Examination in April/May, 2018 can also apply. There are 35 seats for LL.M with an additional 5 Seats for Foreign Nationals, who are exempted from AILET (No. of seats may vary).
Reservation will be 15%, 7.5% & 5% for SC, ST and PwD categories respectively.
Ph.D: LL.M. Degree with 55% Marks or its equivalent (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities). Detailed eligibility conditions are given at www.nludelhi.ac.in. There are 5 seats.
Application Fee: Application fee of Rs.3,050/- for General Candidates and Rs.1,050/- in case of SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PD) who will have to submit copy of requisite Caste/Persons with Disabilities Certificate. Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants of SC/ST Category are exempted from application fee. Fee can be paid online using Credit Cards/Debit Cards or Net banking. Admit cards will be available online w.e.f. April 14, 2018 at the websites.
Structure of AILET:For B.A.LL.B (Hons), the Test will carry a maximum of 150 marks and will be of 1 hour 30 minutes duration. There will be questions from English (35 Marks), General Knowledge (Current Affairs, General Science, History, Geography, Economics, Civics) (35), Legal Aptitude (35), Reasoning (35) and Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) (10).
For LL.M. Programme, there will be 100 multiple choice Objective Type Questions of one mark each which has to be answered in the OMR Sheet. There will also be one Essay Question of 50 Marks which has to be answered in Separate Sheet.
For Ph.D. admission test, there will be 100 multiple choice Objective Type Questions of one mark each which has to be answered in the OMR Sheet.
For all tests, each objective type questions will carry 1 mark. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Old Question Papers of Entrance Test of B.A.LL.B (Hons) Programme from 2010 to 2017 are available at the counter at NLU, Delhi for sale on payment of Rs. 500/- by Credit /Debit Cards or through post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 550/- in favour of Registrar, National Law University Delhi payable at New Delhi. A covering letter should also be sent with an address for delivery.
