Forensic Psychology Aptitude and Caliber Test: Apply by October 28
Lok Nayak Jayapakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science (LNJN NICFS), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India; has invited applications for the Forensic Psychology Aptitude and Caliber Test (F-PACT-2019); F-PACT & F-PACT Plus.
The All-India qualifying test F-PACT and F-PACT Plus are being conducted for persons having Post Graduate Degree in Psychology/Criminology/Forensic Science from recognized Universities or Colleges. F-PACT & F-PACT Plus is a screening test only. The services of qualified candidates may be utilized on ‘need basis’ to assist Forensic Scientists in expediting the disposal of cases in the Psychology Division of various Central Forensic Science Laboratories in India.
After following due process of interview, the qualified candidates will be considered for the recruitment of 6 positions for F-PACT and 9 positions for F-PACT Plus purely on need based, short term and contractual basis.
A consolidated list of qualified personnel will be made available for recruitment to Central Forensic Science Laboratories (CFSLs) of Directorate of Forensic Science Services (DFSS) which can utilize the services of these qualified professionals for need-based and short term skilled forensic assignments to expedite disposal of cases requiring forensic psychological test.
One may opt for only one test, F-PACT or F-PACT Plus.
Eligibility: Applicant must be an Indian national. There is no upper age limit.
For F-PACT, applicant must hold a Master’s Degree in Psychology/Criminology from recognized University/Institute or a Master Degree in Forensic Science with Forensic Psychology or Forensic Criminology as one of the subjects during all the three years of Bachelor of Science level from a recognized University/Institute.
For F-PACT Plus, applicant should have Master’s Degree in Psychology/Criminology from recognized University/Institute or Master Degree in Forensic Science with Forensic Psychology or Forensic Criminology as one of the subjects during all the three years of Bachelor of Science level from a recognized University/Institute. Applicants should also have 3 years of experience in analytical methods and/or research in the relevant field.
Scheme of Examination: F-PACT and F-PACT Plus will be held on 24th November 2019 (Sunday), from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm and will be an online computer based test. F-PACT will be of 80 minutes duration to be held from 10.30 am to 11.50 am while F-PACT (Plus) will be of 120 minutes duration to be held from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. The tests will consist of multiple choice questions (MCQ). The questions will be so designed as to measure the aptitude and skills required to handle scientific tests of lie-detection labs and interpretations of test results to deduce their evidential values.
The test shall consist of two Parts: Part A and Part B. Part A will have 100 MCQs and shall be compulsory for those who have applied for F-PACT and also F-PACT Plus. It will comprise of questions from Criminology, Psychology, Reasoning and Forensic Science aptitude. Part B will be compulsory for all the candidates who have applied for F-PACT Plus. It will have 50 MCQs and will be held from 11.50 pm to 12.30 pm.
Each correct answer will carry one mark and there will be no negative marking.
The syllabus & scheme of exam may be seen at NICFS website http://nicfs.gov.in/. The syllabus for F-PACT and F-PACT Plus will be the same, only the difficulty level of questions will be different.
Examination will be held at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai

Application fee is Rs. 400/- for Females, OBC/SC/ST/PH applicants and Rs. 800/- for all others, which may be paid online, using Credit/Debit Card or through Internet Banking.
Admit Card will be issued on 18th November, 2019.
List of candidates qualifying in F-PACT & F-PACT Plus will be announced on 30th November, 2019.
