Film Festival on Rural Development at NIRDPR: Apply by November 5
National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India Rajendranagar, Hyderabad - 500 030; India's apex organisation for undertaking research and training in various aspects of rural development, has invited entries for its annual Film Festival on Rural Development, which will be held at NIRDPR campus.
Objectives: The contest aims to encourage artists/youth to document/development films on Development or Social Issues and thereby, appreciate the efforts of filmmakers’ contribution to the Rural Development sector.
Nominations are invited for submission of feature films/documentaries/short films made by amateur/professional filmmakers/documentary creators on the broad theme of Rural Development, to contest and for screening of films during the Film Festival on Rural Development.
Nominations shall be accepted in the following categories: (i) Rural Development Government Schemes (Documentary) (ii) Films under different genres related to Rural Development (fiction)- Duration: up to 45 minutes (iii) Thematic Mobile Film Contest on any one topic: (a) Cultural continuity-Rural to Urban (b) Diminishing divide-Rural to Urban- Duration: 3-5 minutes
The Best Films under each category will be awarded with attractive Cash prizes, which will be Rs.50000/- as 1st Prize; Rs.25000/- as 2nd Prize and Rs.15000/- as 3rd Prize.
Thematic Mobile Filmmaking (open for all): Cash Prize of Rs.5000/-, Rs.3000/- and Rs.1500/- will be awarded to the first three positions.
The theme of the film should be strictly confined to one that is given. The footage should be of good quality with a clear synchronised audio. If the medium of language is other than English or Hindi, there should be appropriate subtitles in English language. The film should not be more than 3 years old. Entries from last year should not be submitted. A DVD of film should be submitted to the Head, CDC, NIRDPR with contact details of the filmmaker. A self-declaration stating the certification of content and footage should be submitted along with the film. The Institute reserves the right to use the selected films for our training and research purposes.
The makers of selected films are requested to be present at the screening to be held at ‘Vikas Auditorium, NIRDPR, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad’ on 20th November 2019 or should make themselves available on video call for interaction with the audience post-screening. They should bring their film in DVD/pen drive to the screening venue.
The Institute will not provide travel allowances. However, accommodation will be provided for selected filmmakers on NIRDPR campus during the Film Festival. There is no entry fee.
The Nominated films/short films should be the original works of the filmmakers. Not more than two entries will be acceptable by one Filmmaker/s.
The Nomination should contain the following documents:
Entry Form with complete details of director and Producer; Biodata of the filmmaker/s; Declaration with regard to the original work of filmmakers; Synopsis of the film; Film(full) in compatible format (CD/DVD).
