Doctoral Programme at NII
Kochi: National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, an autonomous institution under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, has notified the admissions to the Ph.D Programmes 2016-17, in (i) Infection and Immunity (ii) Genetics, Molecular and Cellular Biology (iii) Chemical, Structural and Computational Biology (iv) Reproduction and Development.
The applicant should hold M.Sc in any branch of science, M Tech, MBBS, M.V.Sc, M.Pharm or equivalent qualifications as per the norms of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Applicant should have scored 60% or equivalent grade in Senior Secondary Certificate (10+2), Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree. Relaxation in aggregate score will be applicable for SC/ST candidates.
Reservation for OBC, PH and SC/ST will be as per statutory norms.
Those who have completed or are likely to complete the required courses in the current academic year can also apply.
There are two channels for selection. The first channel is the Entrance Examination to be conducted by NII at New Delhi, Kolkata, Pune & Hyderabad on February 21, 2016 (Sunday).
The second channel is the Joint Graduate Entrance Examination in Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS December 2015).
Those applying through JGEEBILS 2015 will also have to submit a separate application along with the application fee to NII, New Delhi indicating their JGEEBILS hall ticket number.
An applicant must qualify in one of the two examinations. Applicant will be short-listed for an interview based on their scores in the NII Entrance Examination, February 2016, or in JGEEBILS (December 2015). Selected candidates will be enrolled for Ph.D Programme affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru University. The last date for submission of application is December 31, 2015.
