Chief Minister’s Nava Kerala Post-Doctoral Fellowships: Apply by October 20
Applications have been invited for the ‘Chief Minister’s Nava Kerala Post-Doctoral Fellowships’ introduced with the aim of meeting innovation and development needs of the state through promoting quality research spanning the sectors like social, economic, agriculture, development and industry.
The fellowship carries amounts ranging from 50,000/- to 1,00000/-per month. An additional amount of Rs.50000/- will be provided subject to requirement, to set up laboratory and other facilities. The period of fellowship will be for two years, which may be extended for one more year, if required. Fellowship amount will be granted based on the progress of the project work.
The post-doctoral fellowship registration can be done either in selected departments or schools of the Universities and the studies may be undertaken in collaboration with outside hospitals, industries and technical centres.
Priority of fellowships will be based on the present developmental needs of Kerala especially the following sectors (i) possibilities of Ayurveda and eco-diversity (ii) commercial crops and rubber (iii) cyber physical digital technologies (iv) scientific branches of genetics and genomics (v) alternative possibilities for reducing the use of fossil fuels (vi) development of agricultural sector of Kerala (vii) climate change and for scientifically tackling recurring natural calamities (vii) Innovation Sector (ix) reinforcement of the indigenous culture of Kerala. Eligibility: Applicant should be a Keralite in origin in India or abroad and should possess Ph.D degree in one of Science, Technology, Social Science, Arts and Humanities. The upper age limit for the fellowship is 40 years at the time of notification. Age relaxation of 5 (five) years will be given to Women and to those belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Physically challenged categories.

An undertaking from Head of any of the recognized Research Centres/ Departments/ Institutions stating that they have no objection to allow the PD Fellow to carry out the programme in the institution has to be provided. The candidate may also submit a brief profile in the prescribed format along with the application form. Applications shall be accompanied with synopsis of the project proposal.
