Calicut University UG Admissions 2018: Apply by May 31
Directorate of Admissions (DoA), University of Calicut, Tagore Niketan, Calicut University P.O; Malappuram-673 635, has invited online applications for admission to the Under Graduate Programmes in the affiliated colleges of University of Calicut for the academic year 2018-2019.
Those candidates who are ‘Eligible for Higher Studies’, as per the Higher Secondary Examination or have a pass in the equivalent examination are eligible for admission to degree courses, unless otherwise specified. Those who have qualified the HSE and VHSE of the Government of Kerala under ‘SAY’ scheme and Compartmental Examination of CBSE are also eligible for admission to first year degree courses in the same academic year.
Those who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu (Private study) are not admitted to any course under Calicut University. Physically Challenged persons are not eligible for admissions to the Geology course. Visually challenged candidates are not eligible for admission to science subjects involving practical.
The following Courses are not included the Centralised Admission Process (i) All Under Graduate Programmes with Entrance (ii) Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (iii) BSc Medical Laboratory Technology (iv) BSc Medical Microbiology (v) BSc Medical Biochemistry (vi) All UG programme for which affiliation orders are issued after the commencement of online registration (vii) Admissions to the Autonomous Colleges.
All those seeking admission to the UG programmes irrespective of the Quota (General merit/reservation/sports/Persons with disabilities/Mentally Retarded /Community/ Management/Inmates of Juvenile Justice Home/Kashmir Students/Students from Andaman & Nicobar Islands) should compulsorily register through Centralized Admission Process (CAP). Those who have not register through CAP will not be permitted to take admission to any category of seats at any stage of the admission process. The ethnic natives of Lakshadweep seeking admissions need not register through CAP. The colleges shall admit them and thereafter generate CAP ID from the college to which he/she seeks admission.
For admission to BVoc Programmes/BTA/BA Music/Vocal/ Veena/Mridangam/Violin programmes the students should compulsorily register through the CAP. The rank list of the registered candidates will be provided to the colleges and the Principals will conduct admissions from the rank list on the dates announced by the University.
The details of seats that come under the ambit of Centralized Admission Process (CAP) are as follows.
- Government Colleges: All seats available in Government Colleges excluding Sports Quota/Mentally Retarded/Lakshadweep Quota/Kashmir students
- Aided Colleges: Open Quota Seats (Merit) and seats reserved for Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes
- Unaided Colleges & Self Financing Courses in Aided Colleges: 50% of the total seats including the seats reserved for SC/ST/SEBC
- IHRD Self Financing Colleges: 50% of the seats subject to the reservation rules of Government/University.
Application: Online registration for admission can be done at http://www.cuonline.ac.in/, latest by 31 May 2018.
Application Fee: Online Registration Fee for General category candidates is Rs 265/-. For SC/ST, it is Rs.105/-. Fee can be paid through e-payment system (State Bank online/payment Gate way/Nodal Centers functioning in Affiliated colleges/Friends Janasevena kendram/Akshaya kendras). The last date for fee payment is 30 May 2018 and the last date for online registration is 31 May 2018.
Printout of the Online application or Chalan /payment slips need not be sent to the University. Applicants should keep the same with themselves and have to submit them to the college where he/she gets admission. Application for registration after the closing date will be levied a fine of Rs 265/-.
