BSc Nursing at Armed Forces Colleges; Apply by Dec 30
Applications are invited from female candidates for admission to the 4 years B Sc. Nursing course commencing in 2018 at Colleges of Nursing of Armed Forces Medical Services.
The College of Nursing (CON), seats available and the tentative month of declaration of result by the Universities is as follows.

- CON, Indian Naval Hospital Ship (INHS), Asvini - 30 seats - August
- CON, Army Hospital (Research & Referral) [AH (R&R)], New Delhi - 30 seats - July/August
- CON, Command Hospital (Central Command) [CH(CC)], Lucknow - 30 seats - September/ October
- CON, Command Hospital (Airforce) [CH(AF)], Bangalore - 20 seats - September/ October
Eligibility: Applicant should be an Indian female who is unmarried/ divorcee/ legally separated or widow without encumbrances, born between 1st October, 1993 and 30th September, 2001 (both days inclusive).
Applicant should have passed, the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent (12 Years schooling) examination in the first attempt, as a regular student from a Statutory /Recognized Board /University/ Examination Body, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) and English, with not less than 50% aggregate marks. Those who will be appearing for final year of qualifying examination during the current academic session may also apply provisionally subject to submission of proof of passing the qualifying examination with requisite subjects and marks before joining the course, if finally selected.
Selection: Eligible applicants will be called for an objective type written test of 90 minutes duration likely to be held in February 2018, at Agra, Ambala, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandimandir, Chennai, Danapur, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Jhansi, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Meerut, Mumbai, Secunderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Ezhimala (Cannanore), Pune and Wellington. The written examination will have questions from General English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and General Intelligence.
Candidates as per merit on the basis of written test will be called for interview during May 2018.
Medical Examination: After the interview, the recommended candidates will appear for medical examination before a Special Medical Board (SMB). Candidates declared Fit/Unfit will be informed by the President of the Medical board including the procedure of requesting for Appeal/Review Medical Board.
Final selection will be based on combined merit of written test & interview, subject to medical fitness.
Admission will be given based on the merit cum choice, subject to vacancy in each College. During training, they will be provided with free ration, accommodation, uniform allowance and monthly stipend as per existing terms and conditions as amended from time to time. Those selected have to execute an agreement/Bond to serve in the Military Nursing Service (MNS) for 5 years. On successful completion of Nursing Training (4years), candidates will be granted permanent/short service commission in the Military Nursing Service, under the terms and conditions laid down for grant of such commission. In the event of withdrawal from the course, termination of training or refusal to accept commission in the MNS, if offered, the candidate will have to refund the bond money as per the bond executed.
Subsequent to passing the final year University examination for B.Sc Nursing course, candidates will be offered commission in the Military Nursing Service subject to medical fitness. Date of declaration of result by respective Universities will be the date of commissioning. The date of commission determines the date of seniority in service among all candidates who have joined the course in the same year.
Application: Application can be submitted online from 11th December 2017 to 30th December, 2017 at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. Applicant’s e-mail ID will be the user ID for this website. Applicant should select her own password. It is mandatory for the candidate to give one live contact mobile number for correspondence.
Application fee: Fee can be paid online only. Only the eligible candidates will be able to pay the online application processing fee of Rs 150. On successful completion of online payment, a bank reference number (DU Number) will be generated for the future correspondence. For successful payment, applicant may check the account form which the transaction is done for deduction of the amount of the application fee.
The admit card for the written test can be generated online by the candidate with effect from 15th January, 2018. Roll numbers of eligible candidates called for written test will be uploaded in www.joinindianarmy.nic.in in the third week of January, 2018.
The result of the written test will be uploaded in the same website in the first week of March 2018.
The selection of the candidate for the course will however be subject to producing of the original mark sheet/certificate of the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) before final selection and meeting all other eligibility criteria. The selected candidates if found not in possession of documents /mark sheets as per eligibility criteria, at the institution in which they report, the admission is liable to be cancelled. In such cases no TA will be applicable.
No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates with regard to either the receipt of applications/ status of applications/ details or reasons of rejected applications.
