National Rail and Transport Institute (NRTI), a Deemed to be University, National Academy of Indian Railways, Lalbaug, Vadodara, Gujarat-390 004, has invited applications for admission to its Inaugural Undergraduate Programmes, BSc Transportation Technology at School of Engineering and Applied Science and BBA Transportation Management at School of Management and Leadership
BSc Transportation Technology aims at preparing a cadre of transportation technologists and specialists. The programme focuses on technology and its application in the field of transportation. It is designed to orient young minds to finding technology solutions through the application of new ideas, knowledge and skills.
BBA Transportation Management is a specialised programme focussed on management practices in the context of the transportation sector. The curriculum is designed to introduce young minds to develop new ideas, innovative concepts, refined skills and in-depth knowledge to question, evaluate, invent and redefine surface transport ecosystems in India and the world.
The programme format embeds workshops/laboratory/studio work within taught courses and offers students the flexibility to build an academic plan that has the requisite composition of core, foundation and elective subjects from Domain knowledge, Multidisciplinary learning and Self-discovery & professional development.
The programme extends over a period of three years comprising three trimesters each. There are 4 courses in a trimester, across eight trimesters. Students spend one trimester in the final year, experiencing a live industry project or preparing a thesis. Student is required to undertake at least one summer internship in the first two years that offers them exposure to the railways and allied transportation industries.
In the inaugural year 2018-19, NRTI will offer up to 100% scholarship (Need-blind admission), covering Tuition Fees and Hostel & Mess Fees
A maximum of 100 students will be admitted across the BBA and BSc Programmes.
The programmes are fully residential and there are separate hostel facilities for boys and girls.
Eligibility: Applicants must have passed 10+2 with at least 55% marks (50% for OBC/SC/ST). For admission to BSc in Transportation Technology, applicant should be from Science Streams and should have studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject at Class XII. Admission to BBA in Transportation Management is open to students from all Streams and should have studied with Mathematics as a mandatory subject in Class XII.
Applicant must be below 25 years of age as on August 1, 2018.
Registration & Selection Process: Applications can be registered at www.nrti.in. The last date to register in June 30, 2018
Registered students will be shortlisted, based on Class XII board results, to take an NRTI Admission Aptitude Test.
Shortlisted students will be contacted and requested to apply online to select a test centre location, and upload relevant documents like Class XII Mark sheets, photograph, etc. and pay an application fee. The test will be held in July 2018 at specified test centres located across the country. Test date and locations will be notified in due course.
Final selection will be drawn up based on the performance in NRTI Admission Aptitude Test.
Annual Fees: The total annual Fee is Rs.82,500/- which includes Tuition Fee of Rs.37,500/- (Rs.75,000/- plus 50% ‘founding batch’ scholarship), annual Hostel Fee of Rs.25,000/- and annual Mess Fee of Rs.20,000/-.
The institute has a Need-Blind admission policy, where NRTI will provide up to 100% scholarship, based on each individual’s specific financial need.
