B.Tech Lateral Entry admissions in Kerala: Apply by October 27
Applications have been invited the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala, for admission to B.Tech (Lateral Entry) Course 2020 in various Engineering Colleges in Kerala for the year 2020-21.
The Lateral entry scheme is for admission to the third semester (second year) of the 4 year B.Tech Programme, to enable those admitted to acquire a B.Tech Degree.
Eligibility: Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply. The admission of non-Keralites will be restricted to the management quota seats in Private Self-Financing engineering colleges and Management seats in the Government controlled self-financing engineering colleges.
Academic Eligibility: Applicant should have passed a recognised three year Diploma Examination in Engineering /Technology (two years in the case of Lateral Entry Diploma) or passed three year D.Voc (Vocational Diploma) Examination with at least 45% marks in aggregate (40% in the case of reserved category candidates) can apply.
Those who have passed B.Sc degree examination from a recognized university with at least 45% marks in aggregate (40% in the case of reserved category candidates), having passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject, can apply, subject to conditions that (i) they will be considered for admission only after considering all the eligible applicants belonging to the Diploma and D.Voc streams (ii) they have to clear the subjects Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the First year Engineering Programme along with the second year subjects
Applicants should have completed 18 years of age as on the 31st December 2020. There is no upper age limit.
Application: Applications can be submitted latest by 5 pm on 27.10.2020 at the link provided at www.cee.kerala.gov.in Applicant will have to upload photo, signature, certificates to prove date of birth, Nativity, Income, Community, Non-Creamy Layer along with the application.
Prospectus is also available at the website. The equivalency of branches showing the Specialization in Diploma/D.Voc course and the branch equated to the B.Tech course is given in the Prospectus.
Application fee: Application fee is Rs.750/- (Rs.375/- for SC/ST Applicants). Application fee can be remitted online or using e-Chelan. In case of payment through e-challan the payment should be made in any Head Post Offices in Kerala, in cash and the e-challan generated from the website should be submitted with the online application.
Selection: Rank list for admission will be based on the marks in Diploma/D.Voc. Separate rank list will be prepared for B.Sc stream applicants. Allotment of seats will be made through a Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) by the CEE, details of which are given in the Prospectus.
