Applications have been invited for admission to the Professional Diploma Courses 2020 in Pharmacy, Health Inspector and Paramedical Courses conducted by various authorities within KeraIa.
Admission will be made to the Diploma Programmes in (i) Pharmacy (ii) Health Inspector (iii) Medical Laboratory Technology (iv) Radio diagnosis & Radiotherapy Technology (v) Radiological Technology (vi) Ophthalmic Assistance (vii) Dental Mechanics (viii) Dental Hygienist (ix) Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology (x) Cardio Vascular Technology (xi) Neuro Technology (xii) Dialysis Technology (xiii) Endoscopic Technology (xiv) Dental Operating Room Assistance (xv) Respiratory Technology (xvi) Central Sterile Supply Department Technology
Admissions are regulated on the basis of merit as assessed in the rank list prepared based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination(s).
Only Indian citizens are eligible for admission unless otherwise notified. Holders of Persons of Indian Origin (PlO) cards/ OCI (Overseas Citizen of India), will also be treated at par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admissions. However, PIO/OCI candidates will not be eligible for any kind of reservation.
Candidates seeking admission to the courses will be categorized as Keralite and Non- Keralite. A candidate of Kerala origin will be categorized as a ‘Keralite’. Children of All India Service (AIS) officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala cadre are deemed to be ‘Keralites’. But they will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/ Persons with disabilities reservation.
A candidate who is not of ‘Kerala origin’ but who has undergone the qualifying course in Kerala, and who is the son/daughter of the following categories of Non-Keralite parents will be categorized as Non- Keralite: Employees of the Government of India and defense personnel posted to Kerala; Employees, who are serving the Government of Kerala, subject to the condition that the employees have served in the state of Kerala or for the state of Kerala, for a minimum period of two years. Non-Keralite candidates will be considered against ‘State Merit’ seats only and will not be eligible for Communal/Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation.
Academic Eligibility: Generally, applicant should have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala/examinations recognized equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as Optional subjects with 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together.
For Diploma in Pharmacy, those with Mathematics instead of Biology are also eligible. Those who have passed Plus 2 are eligible for D.Pharm (there is no mark conditions).
For Diploma in Health Inspector, in the absence of those who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology, those who have studied other combinations will also be considered if they have 40% marks in the 3 optional subjects together.
Relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed to SC/ST candidates.
Age: Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31 December 2020. Upper age limit is 35 as on 31 December 2020. No relaxation in the age limit shall be made on any account, except for Management quota seats of D.Pharm course where maximum age limit is exempted.
Application: A single application is to be submitted for applying to one or more of the courses. Application can be submitted through the link provided at www.lbscentre.kerala.gov.in latest by 15.1.2020. Prospectus can also be downloaded from this website.
Application fee is Rs.400/- for General category and Rs.200/- for SC/ST applicants. The amount can be paid online or by using the challan that can be downloaded from the website while submitting online application and paid in any branch of Federal Bank.
Final confirmation of the online application has to be done by 17th January, 2020.
