Admissions at PDUN Institute: Apply by July 9
Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities (Divyangjan) 4-Vishnu Digamber Marg, New Delhi-110002, an autonomous Institute under Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India and affiliated to University of Delhi, has invited applications for admission to (i) Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) (ii) Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) and (iii) Bachelor of Prosthetics & Orthotics (BPO) courses for the session 2020-21. All courses are of 4 ½ years duration.
Eligibility: Applicant should have passed Senior School Certificate Examinations of CBSE/CISCE (12th Standard/10+2 system) or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (PCBE) for BPT/BOT or Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and English (PCME/PCBE) for BPO. Applicant must have passed in each subject, separately. Those who have appeared or are to appear for the qualifying examination can also apply provisionally. Applicants should have scored at least 50% marks in the four subjects as applicable. For SC/ST/PH/OBC/CWAPP categories, 45% marks would be sufficient.
Applicants should be at least 17 years of age as on 31 December 2020. Upper age limit would be 23 for General category and 28 years for SC/ST/PH/OBC. Those who have passed Plus 2 before 2017 and have discontinued their regular studies for more than three years are not eligible to apply.
Selection: Admission to the BPT/BOT/BPO Programmes will be made based on merit in a Common Entrance Test to be held at Delhi from 10 am to 1 pm on 9th August, 2020 (Sunday). The test will consist of multiple choices, objective type questions based on Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) curriculum of CBSE or its equivalent. There will be one question paper with questions in four parts Physics (A), Chemistry (B), Biology/ Mathematics (C) and General Knowledge and English (D), each with 50 questions. Those opting for BPO course will have the option to attempt questions either in Biology or Mathematics depending upon their subjects in qualifying examination (10 + 2). Such candidates will opt the subject in the Application form in the appropriate column to appear in the test. Rest of the questions in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Gen. Knowledge and English will be same for all candidates. No change in the choice of subject opted at the time of filling up the application form will be entertained at the time of entrance test.
The successful candidates will be called for counselling based on their rank in merit list.
The total number of seats will be 68 each in Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and Bachelor of Physiotherapy and 39 seats in Bachelor of Prosthetics 85 Orthotics. Registration for admission can be done at http://www.iphnewdelhi.in/ or http://www.pdunippd.in/ latest by 9th July, 2020. Registration fee is Rs.1200/- for General, EWS and OBC applicants and Rs.600/- for SC, ST & PWD candidates.
