Admissions at National Museum Institute: Apply by July 31
National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology (NMIHACM), a Deemed to be University; Ministry of Culture, Government of India; Janpath, New Delhi -110011, has invited applications for admissions to the following Post Graduate (MA) courses in History of Art (25 seats), Conservation (15 seats) and Museology (15 seats), for the session 2020-21.
M.A. (History of Art): Applicant should hold a Graduate Degree from a recognized University and should have good academic record with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade at the graduate level. A background in Social Sciences, Liberal Arts or Fine Arts is desirable.
M.A. (Conservation): A graduate degree from a recognised university in any of Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Visual/Fine Arts, Architecture, Engineering and Technology with minimum 50% marks. Those having a Graduate degree from a recognised university in one of History, Geography, Anthropology, Archaeology or related disciplines with minimum 50% marks and 10+2 / Senior Secondary / Intermediate level education in science stream are also eligible.
M.A. (Museology): A graduate degree from a recognised university in any of Arts, Science, Social Science and Humanities with minimum 50% marks. Background/PG Diploma in subjects related to History of Art and Museum studies is desirable.
Knowledge of one Classical / Foreign language such as Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Persian, Arabic, Greek, Latin, German, French, Italian other than mother tongue will be an additional qualification for the purpose of M.A. courses.
In service personnel working with Central Government / State Government / Autonomous organization / Universities funded by Central or State Government / NGOs (in that order) with at least 5 years regular service, having the above required qualification, will also be eligible to apply.
Selection: Selection will be based on an online written test and personal Interaction for candidates short listed based on the online written test. The syllabus of the test is available at http://nmi.gov.in/indexe.html. List of the candidates, who obtain at least 50% marks in written exam, will be uploaded on Institute website for personal interaction through Zoom/Google Meet.
Reservation of seats and relaxations will be applicable as per Government of India rules.

List of shortlisted candidates and the date of online written test of one hour’s duration will be notified on the website separately. The result / list of successful candidates discipline wise will be displayed on the Institute’s website. The successful candidates shall be intimated to deposit requisite fee only at the time of admission. Institute does not have hostel facility.
