Admissions at JNCASR, Bengaluru: Apply by April 13
Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), a Deemed to be University; Jakkur, Bengaluru-560064, has invited applications for admission to the Postgraduate and Research Programmes, 2020-21.
For admission to the Research Programmes (Ph.D/ M.S (Engg)/ M.S (Research)) in Sciences and Engineering, applicant should have an M Sc., B E, B Tech, M E, M Tech or MBBS/MD. They should have at least 50% in their highest University examination and should also have qualified in NET-JRF under CSIR/UGC Fellowship scheme/DBT JRF/ICMR JRF/INSPIRE JRF /GATE/JEST/GPAT. The award certificate of such test should have the validity period for seeking admission to research programme as on 1st August 2020.
Applicants with M.Sc in Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Physics, Materials Science, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Statistics, Life Sciences; B.E/B.Tech in any Biology related area, B.Tech. Biotechnology; B.E/B.Tech in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Metallurgy, Polymer; M.E/M.Tech Aerospace, Bioinformatics, Chemical, Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Polymer; M.Tech Biotechnology, Biological Engineering, M.Pharm, MBBS, MD are eligible for research in specified areas.
Applicants will be short-listed for an interview based on their overall performance and scores in the National Entrance Test or the qualifying degree for ME/M.Tech. The selection is based on the performance in the interview. In some units, a short-written test will precede the interview.
For admission to the Two-year Masters Programme in Chemistry with an option to specialize in Materials Chemistry or Chemical Biology, applicant should have a minimum of 55% marks at the B.Sc. level. Those appearing in the final examination of their Bachelor’s degree this year can also apply. Applicant should have qualified the Joint Admissions Test for M.Sc (JAM).
Shortlisted candidates based on eligibility criteria will have to appear for a written test at JNCASR. Based on the performance in the written test, candidates will be called for an interview.
For admission to the Integrated Ph.D Programmes in Materials Science, Chemical Science and Biological Science, applicants should have a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor's level. Those appearing in the final examination of their Bachelor’s degree this year can also apply. Those who have qualified the JAM 2020 written test (for Master's) are encouraged to apply.
