Admissions at IIIHT Salem for other state students: Apply by October 15
Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, approved by AICTE and Affiliated to Anna Univeraity; Foulkes Compound, Thillai Nagar, Salem-636 001, has invited applications from those from Indian States/Union Territories (other than Tamil Nadu) for admission into the First Year and Lateral Entry (direct 2nd year) to the B.Tech Handloom and Textile Technology Programme for the academic year 2020-21 offered at the Institute.
For admission to the first year of the 4 years Degree Programme in Handloom & Textile Technology, applicant should have a pass in the HSC (Academic) or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.
When the candidates produce grade certificate, they have to produce the actual marks also, failing which, the minimum marks applicable to the grades in the eligible subjects (Mathematics, Physics. Chemistry) will be taken into account.
For minimum eligibility, rounding of marks/normalized marks/Improvement marks will not be considered.
Applicant should have a valid score of marks in JEE main 2020 examination.
Admission Criteria: The admission will be based on the merit of rank obtained by the candidates in JEE Main 2020.
Lateral Entry Admissions: Direct Second year for B.Tech Handloom & Textile Technology: Applicant should have passed Diploma in Handloom Technology/Handloom & Textile Technology/ Textile Technology/ B.Sc. with ancillary subject of Mathematics at B Sc. level or studied Mathematics at Plus 2 level or any equivalent Diploma as prescribed by Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, with 45% aggregate marks in Diploma/B.Sc Degree.
Selection Criteria: Selection will be based on the merit of percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in Diploma/B.Sc Degree Course
