Indian Institute of Crafts & Design (IICD), affiliated to Rajasthan ILD Skills University (RISU); J-8, Jhalana Institutional Area, Jaipur-302004, has invited applications for admission to Under Graduate(UG) and Post Graduate(PG) Degree programme in Crafts & Design for 2019-20.
UG Degree Programmes: Integrated Bachelors Programme (Certificate in Foundation Program for Design - CFPD (1 year) + B. Voc (3 years) (4 year-8 Semesters) is offered in (i) Soft Material Design (ii) Hard Material Design (iii) Fired Material Design and (iv) Fashion Design. Applicant should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board of education. Students appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. There are 120 seats for the course.
Integrated Masters Programme (CFPD + B. Voc + M. Voc) (5 years-10 semesters) is offered in (i) Soft Material Specialisation (ii) Hard Material Specialisation and (iii) Fired Material Specialisation. Applicant should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board of education. Students appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. There are 120 seats for the course.
Masters (M. Voc.) is offered in (i) Soft Material Specialisation (ii) Hard Material Specialisation and (iii) Fired Material Specialisation
Fired Material Specialization focuses on ceramics (earthenware, stoneware, terracotta, porcelain); Hard Material Specialization focuses on materials like wood, metal, stone, cane & bamboo and other allied materials and Soft Material Specialization on textiles, leather, paper and natural fibres.
Applicant has to opt for the specialisation during filling up the personal, other details in the Online Registration form, prior to Entrance Test.
Design/ Architecture graduates can directly seek admission to 2 years M.Voc programme after clearing the entrance test. Graduates from any discipline other than Design/ Architecture, are eligible for M.Voc after completion of 1 year, PG foundation offered at IICD. So, for non design background graduates, M.Voc will be 3 years.
Reservation Policy will be as per UGC norms. Separate list will be declared for successful candidates for 2year / 3 year M. Voc programme. Screening will be done at the time of Interview.
Those appearing for their qualifying examinations may also apply. Their admission will be provisional and subject to obtaining the defined eligibility latest by 31st October 2019. In case any candidate fails to submit the defined eligibility certificates by due date, he/ she will not be able to continue his/her studies at IICD. In such cases, the semester tuition fee will not be refunded. However, the admission will be valid for the next year with the new semester fees provided the defined eligibility is obtained.
Selection: Selection will be based on the performance of the applicant in General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test (35% weightage) (Part A), Material, Color & Conceptual Test (45%) and Personal Interview (20%) (Part B).
Common Entrance test, the IICD Entrance Test for Part A for all programmes will be conducted at Bhopal, Chennai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jammu, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Raipur and Udaipur from 10 am to 1 pm on 14th April 2019 (Sunday). Candidate has to indicate his/her choices of 3 Test centers in order of preferences. The General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test is designed to evaluate the abilities and interests in students, such as estimation of sizes and proportion, observation, synthesis and visual interpretation and general awareness.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Part B Test. The Material, Color & Conceptual Test will assess (i) Intelligent use of materials, conceptualize and realize a 3 dimensional form, skill of handling material (ii) observation, thinking and expanding ideas, creating solution based on a plan and strategy (iii) Ability to provide multiple solutions to the given problem with written description. Candidates must bring pens, pencils (HB, 2B, 4B & 6B), scissor, scale, cello tape, paper cutter, fevistick, eraser, compass, color pencils/dry pastels/water color, brushes etc. for Material, Color & Conceptual Test.
Interview will evaluate the individual personality in the prospective candidates focussing on Aptitude to crafts, Intelligence quotient (IQ), Communication Ability; General Awareness about Crafts & Design; Overall Personal Achievements in academics and co-curricular activities. Candidates may bring a few samples of his/her creative work for display during the interview, to allow others to understand his/her capabilities. It could be anything that applicant has done himself/herself. Sketching, painting, embroidery, photography, worked with material, or any creative, narrative written materail etc.
Admit Card will be emailed to the eligible candidates by 5.4.2019 (Friday), at the candidate’s registered email id. Candidate has to bring at least one original (not photo copy or scanned copy) photo identification (Id-Card). The name and signature on the photo identification must match the name that has been entered in the Registration form by the candidate. Acceptable forms of photo identification types are limited to Driver’s License, Passport, PAN card, Voter ID, UID or Identity card of last school. Candidates who have successfully submitted online form but have not received Admit Card by 10/04/19, should contact IICD’s Admissions Cell at the contact details given at https://www.iicd.ac.in/admission-2019-20/
Result of Entrance Test (Part A) & test date of Part B for the shortlisted candidates will be announced after 4 pm on 25th April 2019, (Thursday).
Entrance Test (Part B) will be held at IICD, Jaipur, on any one day between
1st June 2019 (Saturday) and 10th June 2019 (Monday). The Material, Color & Conceptual Test will be held between 10 am and 1 pm and the Personal Interview will be from 2 pm onwards.
The final list of selected candidates will also be uploaded on www.iicd.ac.in. All selected candidates will get intimation of their selection through an Admission Letter, which will be sent through email. Details regarding payment of fees at the time of admission, allotment of Hostel and date, time and venue of commencement of the academic session will be mentioned in the admission letter.
