The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), a Central University established by an Act of Parliament, located at Hyderabad with campuses also at Lucknow and Shillong, has invited applications for admission to the various Under Graduate/Post Graduate/PG Diploma/PhD Programs for 2018 offered by EFLU.
UG Courses and Campuses: Undergraduate Programmes offered by EFLU are the following:
B.A (Hons) English is offered at Hyderabad (40 seats), Lucknow (40) and Shillong (20) campuses.
BA (Hons) in Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish, each with 20 seats, is offered only at the Hyderabad campus.
B.A Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC) with 20 seats is offered at Shillong campus.
For admission to B.A (Hons) English and B.A. Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC), applicant should have a pass in the Intermediate/10+2 examination or its equivalent with 50% marks for General/OBC and 45% for SC/ST categories, with English as one of the subjects OR should be pursuing the qualifying programme mentioned and subject to passing the exam by the time of admission and has scored the minimum eligibility percentage as mentioned above.

Entrance Examination: Selection to the various Programmes is based on an Entrance Test of 2 hours duration, to be held on an All India Basis on 24 and 25 February 2018, at Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Anand, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Ranchi, Shillong, Thiruvanthapuram and Vijayawada, as per the following schedule.

The test for admission to all the UG Programmes will be Computer-based, having Objective type questions, carrying a maximum of 100 marks. For the PG/PG Diploma and PhD Programmes, the test or will be having one or more of Objective (Computer based)/Descriptive questions (Pen & Paper based)/Oral part. If the test is in two parts - an objective part and a descriptive part - the duration of the former will be 1 hour, and for the latter, 1 hour. The objective part has to be answered first followed by the descriptive part. Interview dates for Ph.D., M.A. JMC, and M.A. in Foreign Language programmes will be announced at a later date. The details on the nature of the test for each Programme are given in the Prospectus.
Application: Applications can be submitted online at http://www.efluniversity.ac.in/, latest by 7 February, 2018. Applicant must have a valid personal e-mail id, to be kept active until the completion of the admission process.
An applicant can apply for admission for a maximum of two full time programmes in an academic year. If one wishes to apply for more than one programme, he/she needs to select the second programme in the same application form and pay the entrance fee for two different programmes. One is not allowed to apply for the same programme in two campuses.
The Application fee is Rs. 500/- for General/OBC/WDP candidates and Rs.250/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates. The prescribed entrance test fee should be paid online, by Credit card/Debit card/Net banking.
During the application process, applicant will have to upload scanned copy of (i) photograph (ii) signature (iii) Aadhar Card (iv) Voter card/Ration card/Passport (v) Caste certificate (in case of applications under the OBC/ SC/ST quota) (vi) PWD certificate (in case of Persons with Disability) (vii) WDP certificate (in case of Wards of Defence Personnel).
Admit Pass: After successful submission of the online application and payment of the entrance examination fee, applicant can download the admit pass, to be made available at http://www.efluniversity.ac.in/ from 16 February 2018. Admit pass will not send the by post.
Cut off for qualifying: The cut-off mark to qualify in the entrance tests for unreserved category will be 50%. It will be 45% for OBC, and 30% for SC/ST/PWD. The cut-off mark has to be obtained in the objective, descriptive parts of a test, and the orals (where applicable), as well as in the aggregate score in order to be considered for admission.
Reservation: Seats are reserved for various categories as per rules. In every programme, supernumerary seats are reserved for children/ wards of defence personnel to the extent of 1% of the intake. One supernumerary seat is reserved on every programme for Kashmiri migrants. For such candidates, however, there is no relaxation in the qualifications required for admission.
Tuition Fee: Per Semester Tuition Fee for different Programmes is as follows. UG-Rs.305/-; PG - Rs.455/-; Diploma- Rs.490/-; B.Ed- Rs.610/-; Ph.D- Rs.790/-. VHC and PHC candidates are exempted from Tuition fees. Details of the other fees to be paid are listed in the prospectus.
Stipend: Economically Backward students receive a stipend of Rs. 1000/- per month to meet mess expenses, and a book allowance of Rs. 1000/- per year. In addition, they are exempted from paying rent for hostel accommodation.
