2022 UPSC Civil Services Exam results out, Malayali girl bags sixth rank

Gahana Navya James (Rank 6), Arya VM (Rank 36), S Gautham Raj (Rank 63)

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the result of the Civil Services Examination, 2022 on Tuesday. Similar to last year, women dominated the top positions.

The first rank was bagged by Ishita Kishore, followed by Garima Lohia, Uma Harathi N, Smriti Mishra and Mayur Hazarika.

Gahana Navya James from Kottayam bagged the sixth rank. Meanwhile, Arya VM and S Gautham Raj from the state are ranked in the 36th and 63rd ranks respectively.

Gahana Navya James, who bagged the sixth rank, is the daughter of the couple James Thomas and Deepa George, both teachers of St. Thomas College in Pala. She studied at Alphonsa College and St Thomas College in Pala.

As many as 933 candidates qualified the civil services examination.

The civil services examination is conducted annually in three stages -- preliminary, main and interview -- by the UPSC to select officers of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
