Civil Service results 2023: Double delight for Kerala couple

Chengannur: A rare feat was achieved by a couple in Chengannur in UPSC Civil Service Examination 2022. While Malavika G Nair (28) secured 172th rank, her husband Dr M Nandagopan (30) stood at 233rd position in the final rank list announced on Tuesday.

Malavika, an alumnus of BITS Goa, is currently working as Income Tax Assistant Commissioner in Mangalore, after securing IRS in 2020. Last year marked her fifth attempt in the premium exam, while it was the sixth and final attempt for her husband M Nandagopan.

Nandagopan works for the Pathanamthitta district mental health program. Malayalam literature was his optional subject for the mains exam. His father R Mohan Kumar retired as chief manager from IOB, his mother Dr S Prathibha works as senior consultant at Kozhencherry district hospital.

Malavika is the daughter of Kerala Financial Corporation retired DGM K G Ajith Kumar and Gynecologist Dr P L Geethalakshmi. She had opted sociology as her optional subject for the mains exam.

The couple got married in 2020.
