Indian Army has invited applications from eligible unmarried Male Engineering Graduates for the 138th Technical Graduate Course (TGC-138) commencing in January 2024 at Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun for Permanent Commission in the Indian Army.
Eligibility: Applicant must be an Indian or should satisfy the Nationality condition as given in the detailed notification at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in
Age should be between 20 to 27 years as on 1.12024. (Candidates born between 2.1.1997 and 1.1.2004, both dates inclusive).
Applicant should have passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or should be in the final year of Engineering Degree course. Those studying in the final year of engineering degree course should be able to submit proof of passing Engineering Degree Examination along with mark sheets of all semesters/years by 1 January 2024 and produce the Engineering Degree Certificate within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at Indian Military Academy (IMA). Such candidates will be inducted on Additional Bond Basis for recovery of the cost of training at Indian Military Academy (IMA) as notified from time to time as well as stipend and pay & allowances paid, in case they fail to produce the requisite degree certificate.
Core Engineering streams that would be considered are Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical and Misc Engg Streams. The equivalent Engineering Streams that will be considered and tentative vacancies are given in the Notification. Only the Engineering streams and their acceptable equivalent streams, strictly as notified will be accepted.
Selection Procedure: Applicants will be shortlisted after fixing cut off percentage of marks for each Engineering discipline/stream. The cut off will be applied in each stream on the cumulative percentage of marks obtained by the candidates up to the final semester/year. Those studying Final semester/year candidates will be provisionally allowed to appear in SSB subject to the conditions specified in the Notification.
Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the Service Selection Board (SSB) at one of the Selection Centres-Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bangalore (Karnataka) or Kapurthala (Punjab) before Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. Candidates will be put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage-1 will go to Stage-2. Those who fail in Stage-1 will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interviews is five days, and details of the same are available at official website of Directorate General of Recruiting www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. This will be followed by a medical examination for the candidates who get recommended after Stage 2. Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be issued Joining Letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria.
