Thiruvananthapuram: The notifications for the appointment of non-faculties in universities were not issued this year too. Though the government approved the appointment guidelines, the universities haven’t reported any vacancies.
This has resulted in many eligible candidates losing their opportunities because of the age limit. They will not be able to apply for any further notifications. The PSC meeting approved notifications to 44 posts except the non-faculty positions. This would be published in the gazette notification issued on December 31. This would be the last PSC notification in 2020.
The new notification includes legal assistant to the law department, assistant engineer (electrical) to PWS/Irrigation, draftsman grade II in water authority.
The candidates had expected the notification to non-faculty posts in universities this year. A case is under consideration in court regarding the reference assistant (librarian post).
It was in 2010, the decision was taken for PSC appointment in non-faculty posts in universities. In 2011 also, an order was issued in this regard. But the appointment guideline was approved and an executive order was issued this year.
The appointment guideline for last grade servants, assistant engineer, overseer, pump operator and security officer was approved.
