Hari Kumar becomes first assistant professor from ST category in Calicut University

Thenhippalam: The University of Calicut was formed half a century ago, but a faculty member belonging to a tribal community has been appointed there only now.

Rewriting the history, Hari Kumar C (30), who belongs to scheduled tribe category, has been appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Commerce by the university syndicate.

Hari Kumar is currently pursuing PhD in Commerce and Management Studies at the university. He completed MCom and MPhil from the university campus itself. He graduated from Brennen College in Thalassery.

Hari Kumar is son of Kasaragod Thazhinoor native Kunjiraman and Radha. Harisree and Dhanasree are his siblings. He belongs to Mavilan tribal community residing in Kannur and Kasaragod region.
