Topper Sreelakshmi finds English a tough subject, yet scores a perfect 100
English was always an issue for Sreelakshmi. She was never able to score good marks in the subject in previous exams. But the 2018 CBSE Class 10 board exam results proved that Sreelakshmi could score full marks in English. She became one among the toppers in the country scoring the perfect score of 499 out of 500.
For those who wonder where that one mark was lost, well it was in Mathematics. All other subjects she scored 100/100.
Sreelaksmi G, a student of Bhavan's Varuna Vidyalaya in Kochi, shared the top spot with three others Prakhar Mittal from DPS Gurgaon, Rimzhim Agarwal from RK Public School Bijnor and Nandini Garg from Scottish International School Shamli.
Sreelakshmi’s mother, Rama Gopinath said, “daughter’s achievement was unexpected”.
Talking to mathrubhumi.com Rama said that normally Sreelakshmi loses mark in English and so never expected to be a topper in the country.
Proper and disciplined study methods helped Sreelakshmi win this achievement. She used to prepare notes on each subject and always took time to practice old question papers. She was never lazy, always kept practising, reveals the proud parents.
Sreelakshmi, a Vennala native, not only excels in academics but is also an active participant in dance competitions. She is also well versed in Sanskrit and has participated in Sanskrit elocution and poem recital.
Sreelakshmi, who dreams to be a doctor, is also trained in news reading and had donned the news reader's role in a channel show.
Sreelakshmi’s father, Gopinath, is a senior government pleader and mother Rama a Zoology professor at Maharajas College. Her brother is a post graduate student in Tiruchirappalli.
