Meet the Kerala toppers of NEET 2019

73,385 candidates have qualified NEET UG 2019 from Kerala. There are three students who scored below 50 ranks in all India list. Ernakulam native Athul Manoj (29th rank), Kasaragod native Hridya Lakshmi Bose (31st rank) and Malappuram Tanur native V P Aswin (33rd rank).

Athul Manoj is the topper from Kerala with 29th all India rank. He scored 688 marks out of 720.

Athul who aims to serve the society by being a doctor, completed his Plus two studies from Chottanikkara Gobal Public School. His mother Deepa is a teacher at Govt HSS Chandiroor and father Manoj is senior vice president at Havells. He has a brother Arnav.

Athul and his family is happy that his two-year’s hard work has paid off. He also attributes his success to the training received at Aakash Educational Services.

Hridya Lakshmi Bose who attempted Neet last year too had scored 31,000 plus rank in all India level and 3000 plus in Kerala. But this year it shortened to 31 all India and second in Kerala. She scored 687 marks in 720. She lost the state first rank for just one mark. According to Hridya, a slight confusion over a question in chemistry cost her 4 marks.

Daughter of Kasaragod GHSS Physics teacher, T N Gemini and project manager at electrical engineering company in Delhi T P Bose, Hridya is awaiting the results AIIMS entrance exam and JIPMER entrance exam. She will decide on the institute after these results are declared.

“It is my childhood dream to become a doctor. Ever since I saw a doctor with his stethoscope in childhood days, I wanted to be nothing else,” said Aswin, the 33rd rank holder in NEET UG at all India level. He scored 686 marks out of 720. This was his second attempt. Aswin was the district topper in CBSE Plus Two examination last year.

He is extremely happy of his achievement. He wanted to do PG studies but will decide on specialization later.

His parents, Sindhu, teacher at Ittilakkal AMLP school and V P Binoy are the strong pillars behind his success. He completed his studies from pre-primary to Plus Two at Tanur MES Central School.
