Indian Institute of Pace Science and Technology (IIST) has released the Under Graduate Admissions Brochure 2022.
Online Registration and Filling-in of Branch Preferences will commence at 10 am on September 05, 2022 and will close at 3 pm on September 19, 2022. IIST Admission Rank List will be published at 5 pm on September 19, 2022. Modification of Branch Preferences can be made till 5pm on September 20, 2022.
The UG Programs offered at the Institute are (1) B. Tech in Aerospace Engineering (2) B. Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Avionics) and (3) Dual Degree (B.Tech in Engineering Physics + Master of Science/ M.Tech.
Master of Science is offered in (i) Astronomy and Astrophysics (ii) Solid State Physics. M. Tech is offered in (i) Earth System Science (ii) Optical Engineering. There is no exit option with a B. Tech degree in Engineering Physics.
Eligibility: Applicant should be an Indian Citizen, born on or after October 1, 1997. Those of SC/ ST and PD category born on or after October 1, 1992 are eligible to apply.
Applicant must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST/PD) in the Class XII/ equivalent examination. The marks scored in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, a language, any subject other than the above four will be considered for calculating the aggregate marks. Applicant should have appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) - 2022 conducted by IITs and secured the minimum prescribed marks in aggregate and in each of the three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) as given below: (i) General- 16% marks and 4% marks (ii) EWS/ OBC-NCL -14.4% marks; 3.6% marks (iii) SC/ ST/ PD - 8% marks; 2% marks.
Registration and be done online at http://admission.iist.ac.in. Registration fee for Male applicants in General/ EWS/ OBC-NCL categories will be Rs. 600/-. For Female/SC/ ST/ PD applicants, registration fee is Rs. 300/-. The amount has to be paid online.
IIST Admission Rank List will be prepared based on the aggregate marks scored in JEE (Advanced) 2022 Examination subject to satisfying the minimum marks prescribed
Tuition Fee per semester is fixed based on parental income of the student. SC/ST/PD students are exempted from payment of tuition fees. There is no tuition fee for UR/EWS/OBC-NCL students whose parental annual income is below Rs. 1.0 Lakh. For UR /EWS/ OBC-NCL candidates, the semester fee will be as follows based on annual parental annual income (i) exceeds Rs. 5.0 Lakh -Rs.62500/- (ii) not exceeding Rs. 5.0 Lakh -Rs. 20850/-.
The institute offers Merit based scholarships to certain number of students. Based on notified vacancies in different specializations, by ISRO/DOS, students will be eligible for recruitment to the post of Scientist/ Engineer-SC, subject to fulfilment of conditions. Those who possess OCI/PIO card can apply and will be considered only in the General category. They will not be eligible for ISRO/DOS absorption.
