Research Admissions at Calicut University; Apply by May 10

Directorate of Admissions, University of Calicut has invited applications for the Entrance test for admission to the Ph.D. programme (Full-time and Part-time) under the faculties of Science, Language & Literature, Humanities, Commerce and Education, of the University.

Eligibility: Applicant should have a Master's degree or a professional degree recognized as equivalent to the Master's degree, with at least grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale or at least 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution. Those who have passed the M.Phil. Degree programme with a minimum of grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale) with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent are eligible to do research work leading to Ph.D. Degree in the same institution. OBC (non-creamy layer)/ differently-abled and other categories need only 50% while SC/ST category applicants need only 45%.

Teachers of the Universities /Government or aided Colleges in Kerala and the teachers of Government or aided Secondary / Higher Secondary School within the Geographical jurisdiction of the University /employees of the University and holding a permanent position there are eligible for admission to Part-time Ph.D subject to the conditions specified.

Qualifying in Entrance Test: Only those scoring at least 50% marks (45% for OBC/DA applicants and 40% for SC/ST) will become qualified to apply for registration to Ph.D. Programme.

Validity of the entrance/exempted candidates shortlist will be 1 year or till the publication of the next shortlists, whichever is earlier.

Exemption from Entrance Test: Those who qualify UGC-JRF, UGC-CSIR-JRF, research fellowships of central and state government departments/agencies; Full-time regular teachers of the University departments/ Govt. or Aided Colleges affiliated to the University of Calicut and teachers with FDP/QIP or similar fellowships; Foreign Nationals who are otherwise eligible for admission; Full-time fellows, who have been selected based on a written test and interview, working in a research project under the investigation of a research guide of the University; M.Phil. Degree holders; those who qualify UGC-NET, UGC-CSIR-NET, SLET, GATE etc; are exempted from the Entrance Test.

Vacancy position in different subjects/disciplines has been published in http://cuonline.ac.in. Applications can be submitted online at http://cuonline.ac.in/ till midnight of 10.05.2021.
