Postdoctoral Fellowships in Mathematics at IIT Gandhinagar: Apply by March 30

Applications have been invited for two postdoctoral positions, one in the area of algebraic geometry and second in the area of differential geometry/symplectic geometry at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar.
The selected candidates will carry out research with Dr. Tanya Kaushal Srivastava in the above area(s), and will be funded by the institute.

Job Description: The post-doctoral fellows will be expected to work in the interface of the areas of algebraic/differential/symplectic geometry for surfaces or higher dimensional algebraic varieties, also over fields of positive characteristics. A strong background in algebra would be preferred. The selected postdoctoral candidates will be mentored also on the teaching fronts so that he/she will have some teaching experience required for various academic positions.

Eligibility: Applicant should possess (i) Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or a closely related field (ii) A strong background in algebraic/differential/symplectic geometry. Those who have submitted their thesis in the above mentioned fields are also eligible.

Duration: Duration of the project will be 1 year with possibility of extension for another year on the basis of performance.
