Regional Institute of English, South India Jnanabharathi Campus, Bengaluru-560 056, has invited applications for admission to the One Year Post Graduate Diploma in English Language Teaching (PGDELT) to be conducted in Distance Mode.
The course aims to help the candidates to enhance their proficiency in English language; acquire knowledge and skills related to English language teaching; become effective classroom teachers; become aware of the need for continuous professional development; acquire core trainer skills, strategies and techniques for English language teaching.
Content: The course covers six important areas in ELT - Listening and Speaking, Reading, Writing, Language Work, Methods and Materials of English Language Teaching, Teacher Development. In addition to the above, students will be required to engage themselves in supervised and assessed practice teaching when they attend the final contact programme.
There will be two compulsory contact programmes. The first round of programme will be for 3 working days in the month of October 2023 to be held online and the Second round of programme will be for 22 working days in the month of April / May 2024 through off line including the final examination and teaching practice.
Learning Materials: Each subject / paper will have four modules. Each module will have 3 to 4 units. As soon as the candidate is admitted to the course, he / she will be provided with Learning materials (6 booklets) and assignment details (2 in each subject i.e. 12 assignments). A candidate is given four years to complete the course. In case he / she fails to do so, he / she has to get re-admission to the course.
Eligibility: Applicant should hold Graduation any discipline
Application: Application forms can be obtained in person from the office or by post by sending a crossed Demand Draft (DD) for Rs. 250/- drawn in favour of the Director Regional Institute of English, South India, Jnanabharathi Campus, Bengaluru, payable at Bengaluru. It can also be downloaded from www.riesi.ac.in in which case the application fee of Rs. 250/- should be sent along with the course fee.
Course Fees: Rs. 10,000/- which may be remitted through Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of the Director, Regional Institute of English, South India, Bengaluru, 560056 payable at Bengaluru or by NEFT to the account given in the detailed notification at https://www.riesi.ac.in/pgdelt/
The filled in application, enclosing self-attested copies of certificates as mentioned in the notification, should reach ‘The Director Regional Institute of English, South India Jnanabharathi Campus Bengaluru - 560 056’ latest by 31.05.2023.
