Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya has invited applications for admission to the Ph.D. Program in Management.

IIM Bodh Gaya’s Ph.D. program aims to admit individuals with exceptional academic background, strong motivation and discipline, and potential to become excellent researchers at international level. It is expected that research students will come from a variety of disciplines ranging from social sciences and humanities to physical sciences and engineering.

Programme is offered in the following areas of specialization: Marketing, Economics, Finance and Accounting, Information Technology Systems and Analytics, Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques, Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, Humanities and Liberal Arts (Business Communication); Strategy and Entrepreneurship.

Eligibility: Admission to the programme is open to Indian citizens only. Applicant must possess one of the following qualifications (i) Master’s degree in any discipline (ii) Professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS (iii) Five-year Integrated Master’s degree programme in any discipline obtained after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent (iv) Four Year/Eight Semester Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech./ B. Arch.)

Applicant should have at least 60% marks (65% in case on 4-year Programs)/ equivalent grade point average in the examination of the qualifying course. Those appearing for their final year examination in 2022-23 may also apply subject to their successful completion of all requirements for obtaining the relevant degree before 30th June 2023.

Age Limit: Candidate must not be more than 40 years as on 1st June 2023.

Reservation: Government of India's Reservation Policy will be followed in the admissions.

Applicant should have taken CAT 2020/2021/2022 or should have qualified GATE, GRE, GMAT or JRF (UGC/CSIR/or equivalent) to apply in the relevant area of specialization. The date of examination for GATE/GRE/GMAT/JRF must be 1st July 2020 or after and its score/result must be valid on or after 1st January 2023. Those who have already passed two-year full-time PGP completed in last 5 years from IIMs with minimum 60% marks or equivalent are exempted from the test score and can apply directly.

Admission Process: Those short-listed on the basis of their academic record and performance in the competitive examinations mentioned above satisfying the prescribed cut-off, will be called to IIM Bodh Gaya for a personal interview for final selection. Applicants are evaluated on their past academic achievements, motivation and preparation for the programme, letters of recommendation, scores on standard tests, and a personal interview with the faculty. Financial Assistance: The institute provides scholarship to full time Research Students (Ph.D.) to cover all academic expenses (consisting of tuition, computer, library fees) and hostel fee. Those selected will get Stipend of Rs. 32,800/- per month till Comprehensive Exam. Post Comprehensive Exam, stipend will be Rs. 35,400/- per month. Post approval of Thesis Proposal, it will be Rs. 39,300/- per month.

Additional Financial Support includes (i) Contingency Grant of Rs.25,000/- per year for four years (ii) assistance of Rs.50,000/- as one time grant to purchase Laptop (iii) financial support to attend Conferences to the extent of Rs.1,75,000/- for conferences after completion of Comprehensive Exam (Max within 5 years).
