Applications have been invited for the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Common Entrance Test (NIMCET), the National Level Test, conducted for admission in to the MCA programme of NITs for 2023.
MCA programme of 3 years’ duration is offered by NITs at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal. At NIT Warangal and at Ajmshedpur, there is an option to exit at the end of successful two years with a Post -Graduate Advanced Diploma in Computer Applications. The MCA Program at Kurukshetra is conducted in Self-financing mode.
Admission to the MCA programme in these 9 NITs will be based on the Rank obtained in NIMCET-2023 only.
Eligibility: Applicants should be Indian Nationals who have a Bachelor Degree after a course of minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects or should be holding a B.E/B.Tech. Applicant should have secured at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10- point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in case of SC/ ST/PwD) in the qualifying examination. Those who are appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
Test Pattern: NIMCET to be held from 9 am to 11 am on 11.6.2023 will be an online examination with a question paper containing 120 multiple choice questions in English Language only covering (i) Mathematics (50 Questions) (ii) Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning (40) (iii) Computer Awareness (20) (iv) General English (10). For Mathematics section, each correctly answered question will get 12 marks and each wrongly answered question will lead to 3 negative marks. For General English, it will be 4 marks for each correct answer and 1 negative mark for each wrong answer. For the other 2 sections, it will be 6 marks and 1.5 marks respectively. Qualifying Criteria: Those securing zero or negative marks either in Mathematics or in Total Marks will be disqualified. Ranking for those qualifying will be based on total marks obtained in the 4 sections.

Application Processing Fee is Rs. 2,500/- (Rs. 1,250/- for SC/ST/PwD category candidates) to be paid online. Those appearing for the final examination of the qualifying course can also apply subject to the conditions in the Information Brochure.
