Max Planck Summer Internship Program at IMPRS Munich: Register by February 10

International Max Planck Research Schools (IMPRS), Munich, Germany has invited applications for the Max Planck Summer Internship Program

The Program provides an opportunity for highly motivated undergraduate students to join one of the labs at the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology (the future Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence) and the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry and aims to provide excellent students with a broad range of research experiences and knowledge to promote them early on in their career. The program will allow the intern to become familiar with different scientific approaches and laboratory methods.

Research projects will be offered in fields ranging from structural, computational, developmental and cellular biology to molecular biology, biophysics and neurobiology.

The internship is a full-time immersion for up to ten weeks. It takes place between mid-June to end-September. Within this framework, the starting date and duration of the internship is determined by mutual agreement between the host lab and the student.

This is a fully funded internship program. Successful applicants will be offered (i) Free student accommodation (ii) Stipend of approximately 800 Euro per month (ii) Reimbursement of travel costs to and from Martinsried, near Munich.

Applicant (i) should be at least a second year Bachelor student or higher or should be currently enrolled in a Master program in one of Biology, Chemistry, Computational Biology, Biophysics, Neuroscience or related fields (ii) should have some first research experience in a laboratory setting, such a lab-rotations or summer internships (iii) should be in the top 10 percentile of his/her class or should have a GPA equivalent of at least 3.7 out of 4 (USA), distinction level (UK) or 1.6 (Germany)/ equivalent scores for other countries (iv) be able to identify a referee (university professor or independent group leader), who knows him/her well and who will support him/her by submitting a meaningful and enthusiastic letter of recommendation (v) should have had academic training in English OR should have an English certificate such as TOEFL or IELTS score report (minimal level TOEFL: 80; IELTS: 6.5). Registration can be done latest by 10th February, 2022 (20:00 CET)at the link provided at https://imprs-ls.opencampus.net/en/MaxSIP. Deadline for submission of application after registration is February 15th, 2022 (24:00 CET).
