Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore has invited applications for admission to the Two-year Master of Science in Data Science and Management, Degree Programme an ideal programme for graduates and working professionals, jointly offered by the Institutes.
The programme focuses on Data, Enterprise Strategy, Technology and People. It positions students to transform data into better business decisions. Students will be able to both identify areas of business where data science can add value and provide inputs to algorithm developers and data analysts.
The programme structure is divided into six trimesters from basic to advanced courses. The trimester I to trimester IV of the programme will cover broad topics as listed at https://msdsm.iiti.ac.in and includes Probability and Statistics, Programming and Data Structures, Mathematical and Statistical Methods, Database Management System, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Research Methodology, Managerial Communication, Optimization, Managerial Economics, Organizational Behavior, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Marketing/ Financial/Human Resource/Strategic Management, Information Systems, Ethics, Legal Aspects of Business, Business Analytics, and many more. In the fourth and fifth trimester, participants will be offered a pool of electives to choose from the advanced courses offered by the two Institutes. In the sixth trimester, participants will undertake a project under the guidance of faculty expertise from both the Institutes.
The teaching will be online with campus modules at both the Institutes. There will be 14 to 15 hours per week live lectures (2 hrs per day on weekdays and 4 to 5 hrs on Saturday). The timing for weekdays will be tentatively 7 pm to 8 pm and 8.15 pm to 9.15 pm. The mandatory in-person contact period is planned for one month during the programme. This will be split in two blocks of 15 days each.
Eligibility: Applicant should hold a first class BTech/ BE/ BS/ BPharma/ BArch/ BDes/BFTech/ Four years BSc/ MSc/ MCA/ MBA or equivalent degree having at least two courses in Mathematics and one in Computer Programming at qualifying degree level.
Applicant should also hold CAT/GATE/GMAT/GRE/JAM test score obtained anytime in the last three years or should have qualified in DMAT (Data Science and Management Aptitude Test) which will be conducted online as well as physical mode at IIT Indore on June 25, 2023. Those who have appeared in any of the 5 standardised tests and are yet to receive the scores can also apply. They must give the results by July 1, 2023.
Data Science and Management Aptitude Test (DMAT) to be held in a single session will be an OMR- sheet based test of 90 minutes’ duration. It will be two sections (i) Quantitative Ability (ii) Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. The two sections do not have separate time limits. In order to be considered for interview, candidates need to score above a certain threshold (as decided by the joint committee) in each of the sections. Shortlisted applicants will be called for interview. Final selection will be based on the interview. Maximum of 200 persons will be admitted.

Application fee is Rs.1770/-. Those desirous of taking the Data Science and Management Aptitude Test have to pay an additional fee of Rs.590/-.
